Definitely great for altitude compensation, I can imagine feeling a bit constrained by the low redline though.

@TheEngineer - Same here, I have seen quite a few around town, more 62s.......We should meet up sometime on a weekend. PM me.

@FFMullins - THANKS!!! The wheels are KMC KM301 Turbine Series 15 x 8 and came in black. They are 3.75" backspaced and work well as far as I can say. Had them about 2 years now. I have been thinking about painting them for while as I was over having two black wheel vehicles. Only negative fit wise is when I first put them on, one of the fronts just barely scrapped on one of the balancing weights inside the wheel. I don't think this would be an issue it you had stock calipers, mine are the 4runner ones. But I just let it ride and it doesn't rub anymore. Tires are MT 33 X 12.5 R15 MTZp3 (kinda loud on the road)

@jsan84fj60 - Thanks, the roof rack is Gamiviti. Great guy to work with, shipping was alot to me then, probably crazy now. Can't remember his MUD name, but check out the website. I wanted low profile.

Dyno tune was a blast. Honestly, numbers not too bad for a straight up bone stock 5.3 with 70k miles with no modifications. This is a great base to work off of to get the power numbers up and bring it right back in here. As it sits right now, I’d trust this thing to run cross country and back multiple times without issue.

If you have a LS based motor and don’t have a full tune, you are really doing yourself a disservice. The truck drives night and day different after the tune.

While the peak number is lower than I’d wish it to be, how it gets there is much much better. Wish I had more money to throw at it while it was out for a cam and intake but there’s always tomorrow!

This one isnt mine, but just wanted to include it. This is in that black S14 in the right of the video with a Nitrous LS with some big ole heads on it.

Wheel and tire specs? That front bumper is really close to what I want too. Build is coming along really well man.

Thanks man! I really appreciate it! These wheels are just the super cheap steel D Window wheels from 4 wheel parts. They’re just temporary until my axle swap. I’ll have to move up to 16s or 17s then. I had to use .25 inch spacers to clear the calipers, but other than that, they’ve been great. I think the backspace on them is like 3.75 or something. The tires are 33x12.5 R15 Toyo MTs.

The bumper is one of my favorite things about the whole truck. It’s from Trail Tailor. The fairlead is recessed into the bumper and is flush with the bumper. It’s pretty dang cool!

The .25 spacer is what I think I'll need to run the wheels I have sitting in my house. They cleared in the back and just barely touched the tie rod ends in the front. Did you put in new wheel studs when you did it? That was a concern of mine if I end up having to run a 1" spacer instead. I like how square those tires are, it's a good match proportion wise.

Do they (Trail Tailor) have prices posted anywhere? I'd be interested in picking one up, it's super clean.

I didnt run longer wheel studs with the .25 spacer because theyre pretty dang thin. I would be a little more concerned with a 1-2 inch spacer, but once you get the .25 spacer in hand youll see that the longer studs arent really needed. Ive also seen people grind down the brake calipers some to get wheels to fit, but ive had this truck on a few wheeling trips and daily drove it for the past year with them and didnt have any issues. Just torque the lug nuts. I agree on the square tires, I think 12.5 inch wide tires on 8 inch wide wheels look great. The newest go to is the 285mm wide tires and theyre closer to 11 ish inches wide, and those look awesome too but i like the wider look.

I am unsure if hes got a price listed anywhere. I paid around the same price as the other popular 60 bumpers for this one though. It was cool because its customizable to what you want, he can do a hoop on the top of it, light cut outs, whatever you want. I just wanted mine to be plain jane. Just something I noticed, he uses pickled and oiled steel for his bumpers so there was zero mill scale, and primer and spray paint adhered to it way better than the normal mild steel im used to painting. I painted my sliders and bumper pretty close to each other and my sliders (painted over mill scale) paint doesnt look as good as the front bumper. The Sliders have chips in the paint from daily driving but the bumper has none. I used the same cans of primer and paint on both of them. This is what it looked like when i took it out of the box

@TheEngineer those Toyo MTs are quite square in almost any size and wheel combination, even the 255/85/16 pizza cutter. They just have very prominent side lugs.
I had those 255/85-16 on my truck. They looked huge. They also had a bad radial pull that a lot of their 235/255 are known for. It was really annoying.

That's good to hear. I just can't justify taking off my current setup. The tires were brand new when I picked it up in August, so it'll have to wait awhile unfortunately.

Does going to a larger size fix that issue? I'd be getting a 33 or 35.

I went to km3 in the same size. They’re great.

I also would go with the Yokohama g003 as I hear good things about them.

My buddy has the 003s on his 5th gen 4runner and has nothing but good things to say about them. Im up for new tires in the 6 months, taking a good look at those, the cooper STT pros and these again. Ive had the coopers and they were pretty nice

Great job man, and also good to hear it's driving so well. You want some reliability in a daily driver!
Do you think peak power is lower than what is was in the donor car, aren't the stock 5.3 LS's spec'ed just under 300hp?

Most stock horsepower numbers are advertised at the crank so there’s no drivetrain loss. Depending on the vehicle I’m pretty sure stock silverados with this same motor were looking at 220ish rwhp.

Since this motor is bone stock except for exhaust and new plugs and wires it basically just drives like a Lighter weight Silverado now haha. But in a good way. It’s got a ton of pep in it’s step. After the tune it rolls onto the power much better and is stronger at wot, and is just more drivable. It’s night and day different than the last motor that was in there but it’s got me looking to add more power. There’s always more 😂. I was also able to get my AC idle up and e fans to kick on by using the factory PCM, and adjust the IAC so it idled better with AC and everything. Well, I didn’t do it. My tuner did

When you do yours definitely do the cam and supporting mods before you do your swap if you can!
