Install was a breeze, even used a little locktite on the lock nuts. My faded emblem had broken tabs so I pulled it completely off. I swapped out the 24V bulbs with my LED bulbs. No Problems!

You got to love a good looking rear end.

AC in my 62 had been even weaker than normal late in this AZ summer so took to my local mechanic. Needed a fan clutch as you could stop it with your hand. Then had a charging problem. Replacing the expansion valve and the dryer today with Toyota parts. I'll be driving it more anyway as the weather has started to cool down here after Hurricane Rosa came through.

And picked up this baby at the freight terminal this morning. 40G tank for the 62 from Long Range Auto in Oz via Cruiser Brothers in Stockton. Can't wait to head out with 68.06722% more fuel!

I know the 40 guys have a patina section, but I'm starting to get some nice patina on my 60 as I strip back the paint that has accumulated over the years.

My radiator started leaking on me so I pulled it and took it to a local, old school rad shop to be checked out. After boiling it out and pressure testing I got the unfortunate word it needed to be recored. It’s been a while since I’ve had this done and I was a little shocked by how much the cost has increased over the years.

While I am waiting on it I did the typical “while I’m in there” moment.

Replaced all the rad hoses with Makay hoses and oil cooler hoses with OEM. All new OEM clamps, OEM valve cover gasket, new gasket for the oil cap, new seals and nuts for the valve cover, new Aisin fan clutch, all new nuts and bolts.....on and on.

Took a fall foliage trip. Started in Raton NM. Took FSR 1950 into Carson NF. Started seeing aspens around Cimarron CG. Stayed on FSR1950 through Valle Vidal. FSR 1950 eventually runs along Costilla Creek and thru its canyon. It eventually turns into NM 196 around Amalia and then intersects NM 552 at Costilla.

A lot of aspens all along the route. Costilla canyon has outstanding scenery and in its lower end the cottonwoods were as gold as the aspens.

Took NM 552 to Questa then NM 38 to Red River and Eagle Nest where we got on US 64 to complete the loop back to Raton.

Had a fine time. Drove 229 miles, took 6 hours.

We have a hardware store in Boulder that was once an independently owned hardware store and it had been around since the 50's. For many decades it was the only hardware/feed store in these parts. It's like Walmart of hardware. Anything you can think of they have ten different options plus something you never knew existed. They got bought out by Ace recently. A lot of their old stock has been for sale super cheap. However they're slowly degrading the store to a chinsey version of homedepot.
Anyhow, I know they have the spout I need, I'm just no sure what thread pitch the champion rad uses.
Straight forward! I did cut my fan shroud in half and one side of the top half only has a single bolt holding it on. If I had thought about it I would have drilled out an extra hole to bolt it down. Is not a big deal, I don't think. We'll see if it rattles around while I'm driving. Maybe I'll mod it later on.

They are still family owned and run. They just buy from Ace vs True Value. https://www.mcguckin.com/mcguckin-hardware-partners-with-ace-hardware/
I do a fair amount of business with them and they are a great resource in Boulder!

Soooo envious!

I finally got everything buttoned back up and started it after five months! Drove it around the block and back to the house. Tightened the oil pan bolts and a bolt on the timing cover that's leaking. And then I blew my manifold gasket.... :poop: :bang::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
