Cute to zoom in and see your daughter in the window. I’m always taken back at how dry it is out west and knowing to you guys that’s green!

That reminds me of the summer of '84. I was working in Eastern New Mexico and the Olympic Torch Run came thru the little town I was in. ATT was a corporate sponsor and had a number of support vehicles driven by ATT retirees, all from the Northeast. We were an 'official' stop, so we went and visited with these folks prior to the actual arrival of the Olympic Flame. One of the first remarks as we were talking was 'what a wonderful job you have done out here of clearing the land of trees, so you can have these large fields to farm...'

Ordered my Gamiviti rack. Went Expo front only with 4 towers per side. Had Tim custom do the front so it angles back instead of forward. Also added another section to the rear so the over all length will be 90 inches instead of 84. For some reason his rack looks short on the 60 series. It’ll look just like this but 4 towers per side and 6 inches longer.

That's tundra. Spring, summer, and fall all happen in about 6 weeks.

Good to know I’m not the only one who thinks that 84” is a bit short to be called a full length rack on a 60. Looking forward to seeing your custom spec rack.

While some MUDders went to the SAS, I chose to take my family up to Leadville to get out of this oppressive drought, heat and smoke. Spent a few hours at the Boomdays festival before making our way out to Haggerman pass to camp. I grew up here and was so pleased to see how clean folks have kept it. Set up camp just below 12,000 ft and marveled at the flora and fauna that isn't a desert. My daughter loves raspberries and got to pick all she could eat. View attachment 1762002

Dude that’s 680’ taller than Oregon’s Mt Hood 11,245’ . Awesome pictures. Here is Hood from HWY 35 yesterday coming back from job in Parkdale. Worked earlier at Mt. Hood Brewery.

@Hojack Oregon is so beautiful! Hell of an accomplishment getting that 4BT in your 60. Are you going to be able use the tach?

I was happy how well my 60 did at that elevation. The HAC obviously still works as intended. Still slow but after driving air cooled VW's all those years I'm used to it.

Yeah... like I mentioned in my build thread it’s down to the nitty gritty. Oregon is changing though. Portland isn’t what it once was. Most of our wildfires are human caused blackening our state. Natural forest forest are one thing but when a teenager throws a firework in dry grass in the middle of August into the Columbia River Gorge and torches almost the whole thing is gets rediculous. There is still a lot to enjoy... just getting harder to find.

It must be like that everywhere out west. Moab is nothing like it was even 10 years ago. Our two-tracks look like motocross courses. I often get this feeling that reminds me of cattle in a feed lot. It's harder and harder to escape the crowds.

I just took at trip down there in May. The vast remote corner of southeast Oregon is mind blowing. Steens Moutains, Alvord Desert, wide open spaces, wildlife and the best... remote hot springs.

So much more out West. I’ve been to MT and CO. Preferred MT but got to a hot spring in CO, (name is escaping me) that we had to hike to and it butted up against a river. Was such a cool experience. CT has some perks but nothing like hot springs!

Took your comment to remind me of the springs we hiked to in CO. Radium. Water was known to have it in it too.

I have those same tires and really like them. Wet roads they seem to handel well. We will see how in the dirt and snow this year.

Ordered a second cup holder because I wasn’t happy with the way the first one turned out. I used a filler primer to smooth out imperfections and SEM texture paint to mimic the console texture. It turned out perfect.

Ouch that sucks. I was able to patch my fuel sender for a few more and get the gauge working. The sender screw won't give up without a fight.
