What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (3 Viewers)

could be the guts of that dizzy, but could also be an ignitor issue. I had one go open when it got nice and warm, and wouldn't make spark till it cooled down again...

Cleaned the interior on the '87 top to bottom. Headliner did not look dirty but it was amazing how much dirt came off with a light scrubbing. I have one of those small Bissell carpet cleaning machines and it works great on auto upholstery.

I am pulling the trigger this week on a new carpet set and some SOR Tuff Duck front slip covers. I already have those slip covers on another 60 and really like them. Also have a new exhaust on the way from MAF that is supposed to be here Wednesday.

Spent Saturday and most of today troubleshooting an intermittent ignition problem. Truck just dies on me....no spark....until it magically works again, then runs like a champ. R/R coil, no difference (turns out the original coil tested good after all so now I have a spare)...new cap/rotor (old ones were probably OK but again now have a spare). Took the dizzy off since it looked like this. I'm hoping it's the signal generator and I can find another one. Am I smoking crack?

I didn't know I could love a dizzy until I saw yours, and realized how beautiful mine is....

I know. I’m still amazed that the thing was running so well, for the most part. And I made a promise to never go so long without checking on it more frequently. And the engine promised to give me 20 more horsepower for that.

I may have the same thing going on. Sputtered to death on hwy, restarted after a few mins, drove fine for a while, died again.. started fine after 10-15 mins (twice). At least it was only 60 miles from home. Drove onto the trailer fine 2 hours later, but wouldn’t run after that.
Was a long night last night.... shouldn’t have tried to come up the drive with it. Mud, snow, ruts, sliding around, trailer hung up on trees, tow rig stuck, wife’s rig brought into the recovery effort.. all bad.
I have a big mess to clean up now - in addition to fixing the Cruiser. Haven’t dug into it yet.

On the plus side, I know how to make a 3FE powered cruiser get 16 mpg, have passing power to spare and charge up hills at speeds previously unheard of.. Just put it on a trailer behind your Duramax .

A bunch of cruiserheads are going to yell (write in caps lock) to me now I'm sure, for torturing my LC like this.

But I took my FJ62 to Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. And the white stuff on the pictures is not snow... It's salt and a thin layer of water which creates a mirror effect. 10.000 square kilometres... You can drive 130 km without even getting from the one end to the other.

The dents in the front are from when the Cruiser got a little hungry and ate a bull in Peru.

Was also lucky enough to get one with a lightning and the Cruiser in front of the Dakar monument 8 km onto the flat. Had to go through some knee deep salty water to get there... Had the car washed and oiled up right after for 10USD.

Here's some pictures.

Seriously awesome. I didn't look at the bull thread cuz it tweaked me out some but seeing the damage now its almost like war wounds. I'd keep those funky scratches. They look sick.

Oh god no... the horns are not from the bull? Please say no. But the icky sick side of me has always dug the look of horns mounted on the edge of a hood. I had a guy living next to me years ago who had them on his old Chevy pickup. It was kinda cool look but I'm gonna guess they go hand in hand with a confederate flag on the roof too.

@nevergiveuptoyota haha no we wildcamped somewhere off a highway in Bolivia two days ago. There were horns like these everywhere. No bones though. Not sure how that works.

Not going to disappoint you there. There's a lot of flags on our cruiser, but the Confederate is not one of them.

@Dixon Santana some will tell you the larger oil filter isn’t the better option. @HemiAlex walked away from it semi recently. And @OSS didnt you share an interesting theory regarding them?

@NeverGiveUpYota

I think he’s talking about the size the truck should have, not the tiny oem filter the dealer gives you.

I tried a +1q filter on Top of the big factory filter. It caused me to overfill the truck and it smoked like crazy. I found oil coming out of everything for two months.

I threw those filters away. I use the oem 15600-41010 from now on.

I won’t use any bigger than the wix 51515 equivalent. I fixed my side cover leak and my truck stopped the majority of its leaks. No need for extra capacity, just use the big factory filter.

Yeah I just want to run the correct filter, not the small one. I'll be the first to say I ran a wix 51515 filter, but then I found a thread on the 80 series section linking an engine failure to the wix filter. That wix filter was removed shortly after.
