Decided to go see if we had any snow and get the dogs a workout.

Swapped out the fuel tank sender for a new OEM, it’s nice to have a working fuel gauge again! Still having a lot of resistance shifting out of 4wd when cold, needs more investigation.

Cleaned up the dizzy. Cleaned everything. Put it back together, measured the proper gap for the SG....re-installed everything, good ground, good fusible link volts, good volts to coil, good ohms at coil (pri and sec), fuel cut out works (clicks with power).....no spark, no run, no fun. Sux.

Got to test out the new rear locker today in some nasty mud and it did great. Just need to install my lift and get some new mud terrains and it’ll be set. @Tennessee80

Oohhhhh. Just tested the continuity of the SG (I don't think it's called for in the FSM, but I read a thread where Jim C mentions the resistance tolerance) - mine is open circuit, so must be bad. Thanks Jim C! I know that's basic stuff, checking continuity, but I didn't even think of it until after reading that post.

Drove to above mentioned meeting....but couldn't stay too long....and in fact had to leave before the meat action took place

ah well

Needs more Filet mignon
The filet was wrapped in bacon and actually not that great. :) Again my apologies for flaking on providing the womans name who’d put the res in... would have been cool to meet. @mongoose2231 didn't bother right? A couple near me came from his area. Pretty wide spread group. Another couple near me were from NJ.

I think he mentioned Signal Generator

oh
Signal g"something" most likely a coil or something which picks up signaling for spark to be pushed out ^^ ..points with no points ^_^v

yes
to me a signal generator is something that goes up to 100GHz because of stuff I design lolz

Went a bit crazy on the parts ordering last week. Installed a new rear bumper with new end-caps courtesy of @beno and got the big Toyota oil filter. Seeing the size difference between the correct and small oil filter was enough for me to say I will not use a small filter. Also have a set fender liners thanks to @reevesci, high quality stuff and unbelievably quick shipping. Took some pictures of the rear-crossmember and the c-channel kit from @reevesci both of which I am very pleased with (had to drop spare to gain access to bumper mounting bolts.) Will finish installing everything else next weekend.

Found this guy in one of my packages. Don't know why, but I thought this was so cool. It's staying in the wrapping.

Went out and broke some snow trail near Timothy lake in Oregon with my daughter. I ended braking the shear pin on the pto (need to source a new) but overall was a great day.

About as awesome as it gets wheeling in the high Cascades. Wish my cruiser swap was done so I could tag along. The recent snowstorms have been amazing. You ever wheeled into the Warm Springs Cabin?

@Dixon Santana some will tell you the larger oil filter isn’t the better option. @HemiAlex walked away from it semi recently. And @OSS didnt you share an interesting theory regarding them?

Just as a Cruiser should be driven this screwdriver should be used. Try it out on a few of the screws and you'll immediately see the improved difference in having the correct JIS screwdriver vs. the standard stuff.

I’m drawing a blank. What’s the SG?

Signal Generator. Aka pickup coil. It’s the small thing that is attached inside the dizzy with a magnet and some other magical electronic wizardry. The two wires coming out of the dizzy go to it. From my very limited understanding it provides like a feed back loop to the coil, to tell the coil it’s OK to send a spark. So if it’s toast, then coil make no sparky. But I’m sure someone here knows WAY more then I on how it works. Turns out supposedly a 1984 Toyota Pickup truck with the 22R motor has a SG that will fit the 2F dizzy. So I Amazoned that last night. $38. Fingers crossed that’s the only issue. Mine was nasty, yet it did run like a champ....except when it didn’t.
