Went to Lowe's:

Got 15 bags of mulch:

Joined the crew that's been at the house for 9 hours:

Did a doughnut in my neighbor's freshly groomed sand =)

11 hours of yard work, check. Finish the backyard tomorrow, check. Had a beer and called in a day. . .

Went to talk to a guy about a respray and spied this sitting in the storage places parking lot. Probably not the right place to post but wanted to share

Received my Battery Cables in the mail from fourrunner today.
Partially installed them need to get the rest installed on.
these things are super thick. very nice quality.
My 84 FJ60 (Dusty) is going to be happy.
Also Replaced My choke cable with new one i have had sitting around.
Sorry no pics. will post some soon

BMW Seats are finally installed. What a difference!

The condition of the seats was terrible so I found some inexpensive seat covers and used carpet adhesive to keep them from sliding around too much. Maybe some day I will recover the seats but for now the Indian blanket look is working for me.

Have a great one.

Well rebuilt the double cardan cv joint (what a PITA!) in the front shaft, I used Precision #513 u-joints and #614 ball kit. This is a 82 model 60, if the ball and needle bearings are not bad I wouldn't mess with it as the 614 is not exactly the same. Where the spring goes in the ball there is no bottom in it as the OEM part. Only reason I replaced it was because the needle bearings were chewed up and I lost one on top of that. The pin in my shaft is the .511 size but was wore down to .507. I'm ordering some Matsuba UJ 236 u-joints, these are supposed to be OEM correct, we'll see. The Precision 513 will work along with the Precision 614 ball kit, and its in the truck now. I've researched my ass off on this. I'll report back when I get them in.
Put a milk jug on the frame rail, butted up to the A/C compressor and used it for a gas tank (make sure you put the return line in the jug too!) Buttoned up the floor after running the transfer with out the drive shafts in. Cleaned out gas tank with Evapo Rust, works good. I'll do it again before putting it back in. Got the rivets cut off the right frame rail and most of them drove out, along with the channel removed. Ordered a craftsman right angle air drill from Summit to drill out the top holes on the frame if you need the part number let me know.

Went out wheeling with the wife and dogs a little. First time I have ever had to put her into 4lo to get up a climb but she roared to life and up the incline like nothing. No pics though.

Enjoying the beautiful state of Colorado for the first part of my Spring Break. Then it will be time to meet up with some fellow cruiser heads at the LSLC roundup next weekend!

Tennessee Pass outside of Leadville,CO, probably the prettiest road i've been on and the 55-65mph top speeds were nice.

But first this happened north of Raton,NM. I got my doors blown off by an older gentleman in a super clean stock FJ60. Needless to say I have some future plans to make a stock clean 60 because despite the fact that I can still make it up the passes in 5th gear, logging miles on pricey 37's is not very fun..
