Attempting oil pan gasket replacement due to leak!

Got Pan off using the jack and 2x4 method.

Now trying to figure out an easier way to remove the gasket on the arches!!

Used a screwdriver and heat gun on the back, what a chore! Now doing the front! got to be an easier way!

Completely lame compared to what most post, but I got my starter back in after it was discovered there was an internal ground issue. Now she fires up and I got to take her for a spin around town today. No wheeling, but I didn't care, just happy to be behind the wheel today!
 
Drained the ballast!

Check your rear 1/4 panels guys, each of mine had a couple gallons of water.
 
Tore transfer case off transmission earlier in the week and ordered parts (transfer rebuild kit, clutch slave cyl.,clutch slave cyl. hose, brake master cyl., both front and rear out put flanges they should be in the 3rd from cruiser outfitters, yesterday pulled head light bezels, grill, a/c condenser, radiator, fan, thermostat, a/c idler bearing, metal coolant lines, belt set, and all hoses and battery tray and a lot of small items Onur is getting that stuff. Will be building idler bracket where smog pump was today.
 
@gator25 I see you have an '81, does it, or did it, have a gate bar on the lower tailgate?

Its actually a 82 and I don't own it, I just work on it. Its my uncle's I've been busted. But I want one does that count? I really don't know it doesn't have one now.
 
Tuned up a 3FE with new plugs, wires, rotor button, distributor cap. Checked the valves and all were in spec. Toughest part is reinstalling the valve cover without dislodging a new gasket but a little silicone in the groove helps to tack the gasket in place. This 3FE has > 200k miles on it and the upper end is sludge-free. Been running Rotella in it for ca. 100k miles.
