My son and I took the boat that my Dad and I built on a quick trip to the Adirondacks. Spent 3 days noodling around Weller pond & Middle Saranac lake which has boat access only camp sites and we also checked out the manually operated locks towards Lower Saranac….In "season" this place is bustling with people and reservations for camp sites (that cost ~$30/night) must be made very far in advance.

Off season is no fee no reservation

We didn't see a single person on Weller pond or middle Saranac the whole time….In the Saranac river We saw a father and son working beaver traps and 2 DEC employees geared up for deer hunting.

Awesome trip!

Changed the fluid in the front and rear diff's, and found what looks like red atf transmission fluid in the transfer case....hmmm.

Normal for vehicles of this vintage. In the aviation industry they call it "controlled migration".

You need a new seal between the A440F and the split case.

Question for you guys. When I look at the parts, it shows 85221-35080 as a LH wiper arm. Does the conversion utilize only the LH side arms? Is the RH side longer or shorter and that's why its not a good choice?

Yep, the RH is longer (and more expensive) and it's not necessary. Post #381 I put them on my 60
