My 5 month old X2Power 27F AGM battery went bad two weeks ago so I got it replaced under warranty. It showed good voltage, but when put under a load test the volts dropped to around 10 and amps to 0. This happened even after a 3 hour drive on the freeway. Alternator always showed 13.6-14.2v while the running.
I also took the opportunity to replace the alternator with a Denso reman from Napa because I had just hit 100k miles and wasn't sure if the original had been replaced. It took about 2 hours with me taking my time. The one I pulled out was also a Denso reman.

Also, Ben and I have an agreement that I will not reproduce this bumper. We do quite a bit of business together and he helped me with the files and I modified to my needs.
The main lines are the same and I changed the files to make it what I wanted and to be a full shell one piece design.

Prepping for Round Up in TX.
Installed a dash cam over the weekend. Not particularly fun 
I had purchased an Apeman C860 off amazon a while back for a different vehicle, but sold that vehicle before installing. I picked it because it had front and rear cams (LA drivers are impressively bad) and decent reviews. I've now found that it's kinda tough to use and the install was no fun (though that's not the fault of the cam).
Used a custom invisicord with dual USB and RJ45 power to run to a camera and radar detector. Plugged into the back of the rearview, easy peasy.
The cam is mounted directly behind the review mirror on a suction cup mount (included with the cam). The PITA part was routing the rear camera cable from the front to the back. I managed to route the cable along the headliner to the C column and then drop it down and run it behind the plastic trim to the rear door grommet. Getting the cable through the grommet took about 45 minutes of coaxing — not a process I'd like to repeat
. Also got it all set up and routed with plans to place the camera on the lower edge of the rear door window, only to find that it's designed to be placed the other direction and doesn't allow you to flip the image.
But, we now have dashcam front and rear.

Had my 275/70 S/T Maxx tires mounted on graphite TRD Pro rims. **stock suspension**. Zero rubbing forward or reverse. The TRD wheels pushed the tires out just about flush with the fenders, which is much more than I anticipated (in a good way).
I did the fender liner mod that pushed the front liner about 1.5” forward. Not the best picture, but there’s about .5-.75” or clearance now. The 275s would probably rub without moving the fender liners.
That looks great - were the TRD Pro's 18" and were they standard or some special offset? I am about to buy a 2004, non nav, and am looking to upgrade the head unit. . .is this what you would recommend? Dont want to go the phoenix tablet route as it seems too buggy.

The Kenwood was replace
The Kenwood was replaced about a year after I put it in, the screen kept getting dirty on the back side. I put in a Pioneer NEX8200 with Car Play and I loved it. I did lose the steering wheel controls, but that wasn't a big deal to me.
If you plan to use your smartphone interface on your HU a lot make sure it’s wireless. My pioneer does apple CarPlay and is fantastic but has to be plugged in, which is kinda lame. Wireless CarPlay isn’t much more expensive nowadays.

Agree, wireless in my new Tacoma would be fantastic, since I have a wireless charger and because of where Toyota has cable hooked up. In my GX, I ran a cable under the center console to the center console storage area and would set my phone there when plugged it.
Thanks! The tires are stiff because I went with E-rated. They get louder as they wear (typical). They're getting pretty loud at 20k+ miles.
The TRD wheels are 17x7 with a +4mm offset. Stock GX470 wheels are +25mm offset, so the TRD wheels do stick out further - pretty much flush with the fender flare with 275/70 tires.
Part numbers for the grey and matte black wheels are below. Toyota sells bronze and gloss black versions now too I think. If you're interested, I'd recommend buying from a Toyota dealer online. Black Friday is coming up and dealers always have specials - discounts, free shipping, etc. If you search the part number on google, you'll see lots of options. Beware of Chinese knock-offs on eBay.

Saw someone on GXOR install an FJ Tuffy Box into a GX with a small amount of modification. I had to do it as I wanted a secure location for side arms if for some odd reason they had to be left in the GX. Turns out Tuffy is out of them until mid-January. Found what might be the last one in the US right now and got it installed.
Not horrible. Need to drill new holes in the bottom(that part was fun), source longer bolts for the 2 holes, use 3/4" spacers to raise the box a bit. Also added a spacer in the rear to make sure it was solid sitting there.
Took me a few hours since I had not actually removed the center console before. Overall happy with the install and the increased secured space.

Yeah my fronts were wrecked so I go in on a pre-buy from RRW back in January. Not sure if they have any left. They are a more durable synthetic. First time I have ever reskinned seats. Last time I will ever do it too.

Ah, got it. They look nice, but the RRW's are expensive as sin and I have no interest in dealing with reskinning my seats. Back to seat covers for me.
Yeah the pre-buy made it cost effective. $385 shipped. The labor to reskin was trying.
Ironman bumper install is complete along with some Ebay 7" driving lights. Super happy with the bumper and pleasantly surprised with the light output. Install was a pain, but I didn't want to rush it and have it look sloppy.
Took off those stupid running boards. Added a really crappy rooftop tent that opens on the freeway.
