Currently have the rig in for new bushings in the UCAs and LCAs. New rear springs (again), rear LCA skids, a wheel stud replacement, and some fresh oil. Getting it done at a shop as I keep getting on airplanes.

Good luck finding space on the tails in Sedona between the Pink Jeeps...

I'm thinking you ought to check out Bulldog Canyon (you'll need a permit, it's free from the Forest Service, and has the gate codes), and we like to drive Forest Road 13, starting from Pobrecito - you can go all the way to Cottonwood Camp, or cut short up to 4 Peaks Road. And there's always 4 Peaks Road itself... by the way, Google maps has some of these designations marked the wrong way, so probably better to get the Forest Service map.

I found Bulldog Canyon, do you start from the north or the south, does it go all the way through to Salt River (meaning can you access and run it from either direction?)

The forest roads sound fun, where can I find a map or more info on 4 peaks, pobrecity and road 13? Thanks.

There are 4 access points to Bulldog Canyon, one's close to the river, but there's no river access from the trail. I like the Usery Pass access better; the desert's nicer a bit higher up. We usually run it eastwards; you can go all the way to Hwy 88.

My GPS tracks are on Gaia on my iPad; I can see them on the Gaia website, not sure how to share them. The Forest Service stuff is currently hard to find.

@DRANGED How did you make these?

I traced a 2" hole saw blade and tried a hole saw on the drill press, but  it was a wood blade so I killed it. I'd also drilled out the center hole with a pilot hole on drill press.

So then I used the portaband and a cut-off wheel on an angle grinder to cut off the corners, then I theaded a 1/4 bolt in it and attached it to the drill and spun it whil knocking off the edges with a flapwheel on a grinder till I got it pretty darn round. I drilled out the center hole and painted it

Today? Went on first small desert run by our house in the Memory Maker (saw another truck on the site referred to as that and im stealing it for my family). Was surprising hard to find accessible trails even though I live on the edge of the desert in Phoenix....?!?! Guess we'll need to visit Sedona.

I'll look at those. My experience is wheeling 70's K5 Blazers through the Utah desert and mountains while in high school in the 90s with my buddies. We were harsh on those things

We can go next time I'm in AZ, and I'll bring the '85 K5... :)
Not sure what the latest issue of thew Wells book is, but there's been a few changes in the past 5 years from both the BLM and the Forest Service that did affect trail accessibility. For example, Walnut Canyon was a really nice and very scenic trail, but BLM closed the part by the river (because motorized trail use would disturb the hikers on the 'Arizona Trail'...), thereby eliminating a really neat loop trail that wasn't too hard on vehicles. We once chaperoned a stock FJ Cruiser through that - came out unscathed. Then again, we never heard from those folks ever again...

Relocated the ham from under the steering wheel to the center console box.

Box removed from console:

Removed trap doors and mounted radio bracket:

Ran the power and antenna wires through the center console and reinstalled:

Buttoned everything up:

Probably the only person who's used a table saw to modify the center console :flipoff2:

thats really clean fitment, great job!

I need to find something to fill that space in should I replace the head unit and delete RSES

changed my cabin air filter this weekend.
