My pig had a rattler attack.....amazing what some sandpaper and $10 worth of spraypaint can do. The PO had brushed on some kind of paint that was flaking and had fisheyes....drove me nuts. Looks excellente now! Took about an hour total

You inspired me to get started on painting the interior in preperation for a new headliner. I must be slow though, I spent 4 hours sanding and preparing the cargo area and I did not have to do the floor!

Lookin good! Can't wait to see it finished.

I wasn't going for a resto type paint job inside since I have the SOR carpet in the back and new cargo panels. Essentially all you see is the wheel wells and the metal around the cargo windows. That said, I've painted many trucks so I have a good gut feeling on what will look good with a spray bomb and what needs some more love. Turned out great though.

Had I gone back to the original white paint scheme inside I prolly would have taken way more prep time. Tape. sand, vacuum, wipe down with mineral spirits, and paint. Quick and easy!

Going back home from school this weekend to start working on the newly acquired 1972 55. About to start stripping it down and starting the long process of finding necessary parts (including a 2f engine). Hauled it home last weekend and looks like it will take a little bit of hard work to get it running, however the rust isn't too bad on the body/frame and its in pretty good overall shape. Ill post some pics as soon as I get back.

No painting, no raffle winch. Replaced the leaking thermostat housing gasket that some genius made out of an old inner tube....

....and replaced it with a genuine, honest-to-god, New Mexico Redneck approved gasket made out of a 18 pack beer carton. :hillbilly:

Gotta love it!

I got the dual dome lights going on the '55. One in the normal spot and one in the cargo area so I can find stuff in the dark. I'd been planning this for years, ever since doing the restoration when I had extra roof beams.

Thanks to Lee I got a second switched dome light this past weekend and it's all there and operational!!

Panel Clips

Shown below are the panel clips I am using to secure the cargo area panels and all the door panels. Napa sells the clips. 13 clips for ~$6, part # 665-2417. They make it easy to remove the panels without damaging them.

Naturally, got my 4-runner tailgate rubber, the plastic pins for it, a tube of genuine Toyota FIPG (black) and the little plastic hood holder-upper holder-downer...S&H
was less than 10 bucks.

Does 4 Runner rubber work for the rear window where the window glass meets the metal of the tailgate? I took mine off last year and have yet to get it on because making one is such a PITA.....

Just Cruisin

Took a drive up the canyon to test out the new PS.Everything worked well.Flipped the back window down, opened up the wing windows and just Cruised.I love my 55!

New Tail lights

Installed two new tail lights. Got these a few years back through a group purchase on MUD. Just now getting around to putting them on. As you can see, the rubber that goes between the chrome piece and the lens is not there. It disenigrated when I took out the old lenses. Anyone have fix for that missing rubber peice??
