That’s a lot of tools to install a winch, you dump your tool chest?
Nope, i use a tool bag. All the tools i need settle to the bottom, i spend the first half hour of any project digging in an spreading things out till i find what i need.

There's good things and bad things about carrying a tool bag vs. A tool box.
You can carry a lot more stuff in a bag. It takes a lot more time to find anything in a bag. I keep my important sockets on extensions, makes them easier to find in the mess.
I remember a wise Pig owner (55 guy or Split Pea, can't remember which) used old coin purses that he found at garage sales to organize socket sets in his bag. I haven't got there yet.
I try to do my driveway work out of my carry bag, so I'm pretty sure i can do it on the trail. I go to the garage tool box when i need something else and keep everything in the bag. And then i go thru the bag and wonder why i need four 3/4" sockets ...and a deep 11mm socket

I hear you, I keep everything super organized in my tool chest but once it’s in my carry bag it’s a freaking mess. Was just chucking at the picture, here’s what I had out for my last winch install 😂

Ok, winch has been mounted, even mounted the control box. Just behind the headlight.
It works, just gotta shorten some cables and find a new place for radiator overflow.

anyone have an extra turn signal mounting bolt? I'll try to make one on the old ship lathe, but I'm not that good, and the machine is quite loose.

Those hollow threaded mounting bolts never lasted long. But, that same type of hollow threaded stuff is also used in table lamps...
Or, at least was, maybe still is.

EDIT: search "all thread lamp repair kit" at home depot...
