22psi on a 3B-T, bravo sir. You are either brave or don’t give a flip 😂
ended poorly on my behalf. Well, I was only pushing a measly 18psi. 25,000 miles and then my crank exploded. Godspeed @bj70bc I salute you and wish you the best

Yes... i was also considering those gears
with the 10% underdrive it would lower the load, and probably the egts, on the engine

are you intercooled?
I have done both with and without intercooler as well as DIY water injection. (Keep in mind that I live and drive in mostly flat places. Being a BJ73 with smaller tires and the engine under less load my boost and EGT's under normal cruise will be alot less than say someone with a loaded down troopy driving through hills with a sketchy cooling system. I may push 22-24PSI at full load in 4th gear, but It doesn't stay there except during acceleration. I watch the guages and lift my foot accordingly.) Running a 4" barrel type air to water intercooler does help keep EGT's from spiking, but it is not dramatic and my 4" barrel type intercooler is restrictive causing me to lose a few pounds of boost which is normal. The biggest difference with the intercooler is the EGT's do not go up and down with ambient temp. Without it they vary accordingly to ambient. If you don't have AC you may have room or it will be easier to mount a intercooler/heat exchanger in front of the radiator. There's a variety of options on mounting a intercooler that don't require cutting a hole in your hood, but do require moving things around.
I like the water injection. I have it set up to "prevent engine damage" from not paying attention to the guages or temporarily pushing too hard trying to maintain speed on a hill. It is very simple: Ebay EGT guage with alarm relay switch, universal windshield washer pump and nozzle, genaric turn signal flasher relay, and a water tank. EGT turns on my water injection at about 1295F. Power goes to the flasher relay wired inline which causes the squirter to pulsate injecting in front of the turbo which atomizes and blends the water into mist cooling the charge. It dramatically slows down the heat climb, really almost to a standstill..Problem is the water tank that comes with the washer(1 quart) is too small. Really you need about a 2 gallon tank.
Now running non-intercooled with water injection that I only bother to fill if I'm going on a interstate highway trip.
I have not adjusted my IP timing. Supposedly if you go the wrong way you can do catastrophic damage.

yes, ive been following your thread.....

I didn’t mean to throw the 3B turbo grenade and run lol.

The 3b isn’t designed for interstate speeds, let alone larger tires/lifts speeds, then slapping boost on top of that.

It’s a plodding tractor engine. attempts to make the 3B a highway speed roller tend to end in bad things. Dropped pre-cups, head gaskets, cranks, bearings etc.

My 13bt was a factory designed turbo engine. On heavy 34” tires I can cruise 65mph at 2300rpm and very safe egt at 5000’. Once I try to start pushing 70 plus, egt start to rise and it feels like im working it a bit harder.

Intercooling can definitely help, but on a 3B you are still fighting compression ratio and indirect injection which is pretty much a losing battle.

Not to say you can’t have it last if you take it easy, And of course it’s your rig and money.

On my way home from work today, some old lady who appeared to be late 70s or early 80s in a small car made a lane change into my lane a bit too early as I passed by her while going through downtown San Antonio and clipped my kaymar bumper. I followed her until she parked and got her info but she clearly seemed scared of the whole situation and probably should have her license revoked. She messed up one side of her bumper pretty good while it just rubbed paint onto my bumper.

The paint on my bumper from her car.

Nothing a rubber 3M wheel can't fix.

Ouch. But you are not racing if you're not rubbin

Well guess I didn't really do it, discount tire did. KO2's were pretty much bald so decided to go with the Toyo Open Country MT's before crossing into Mexico. Been in the Baja about a week now, they're definitely louder but no complaints.

Japanese visitors at my job bring some weird treats to work, some of which I can't get past one bite but these things are surprisingly good. Tire Candy from Japan. Can't put my finger on what the flavor is supposed to be but they are good. Hope it isn't real tire flavor.

I ordered some new headrests for my seats from Dave Stedman after seeing the ones in @bottombracket 's new double cab project but that design is now discontinued. He just sent the new versions to me so I am excited for that. The original headrests are too small for my taste.

I miss some of the different snacks I used to enjoy when I lived in Japan, every once in a while i would search the web for stuff

Which led me to stumble on subscription boxes sent to my door monthly, now I get my little taste of Japan again.

Then you probably get it when I said that I can’t get past one bite when trying some of them. One popular food snack they bring is these shrimp flavored crackers that I don’t like.

I thought about doing those subscription boxes from Japan. My sister gave me a Christmas gift for one year of those boxes where each month was a different country. I really enjoyed that one.

I know what you mean, I actually like the shrimp crackers, but don't care for the seaweed wrapped ones.

I have seen global boxes, from each country like the one you received as a gift, go for it mang!

I found a German box I'm going to order, no more bugging family to send me stuff

Replaced driver side window reg, the 34 year old one was getting notchy. New ome one feels so good like eating chocolate or doing something else the first time! Also learned that the new manual window vd's are the same part number, excellent mr toyoda.

the offending old one...probably can repair it

Three things I could not grow to love was nato, fermented soy bean, a few houses in the village I lived in Masiko fermented it on their roof. They smelt like smelly feet, those houses. Also the live little fish which wiggled down your throat.. Firm seaweed jelly konyaku was fishy too, apparently popular with teenage boys to add variety to just using their hands when doing the solo deed.

I loved getting a vending machine beer and ramen at the train station and variety of foods at 7/11, also closing time for sushi or hot foods at the supermarket. Got a bit addicted to inari for a carb hit. Cold soba during summer..cheap 200yen soft pack echo cigarettes..mid 90's

But vietnamese lemon grass pork chops is hit for me and fam of late, got the technique to marinate down pat.

Nice. Part number? My drivers side is worn.

Well , my BJ70 has gone into hibernation for the winter, battery minder in place. It will awaken like the bears in April if the snow is gone. It will probably awaken a few times during its hibernation but only to see if the snow is gone. Same thing has happened to our 2015 Diesel Golf.

69810-60340, that's rhd driver's side. Can't get over how good it feels, up there with one of the easiest and noticeable improovements I have done to my tojo.
Not the cheapest part though, there is someone selling one with scratches on oz ebay 2/3 price right now.
