I need replacement panels for the troopy, everything is out-of-stock on the Australia sites.
Installed a new throttle choke cable on my hzj77 today since the PO sheared off the original one. The knob doesn't seem to fit on to the shaft end. The OD of the shaft is about 5.0 mm, whereas the knob ID is about 4.5 mm. What am I missing? Do I have a defective part?
Knob: 78402-60030

Could you open up that hole in the knob and make it work? I believe both knobs work the same way... with the end of the cable having a retainer that snaps into that rectangular hollow in the knob's base.Thank you Dan! Good catch! I just double checked toydiy.com where I pulled my part numbers from. I have no idea how I f$&ked that up! Off to order the correct knob. Cheers!
Edit: of course the correct knob seems to be discontinued![]()
Good idea. Thats what I'm going to try since it appears the correct knob is no longer available. It does have the same feature as the other knob to recceive the retainer in the cable end.Could you open up that hole in the knob and make it work? The symbol is nearly identical... with the throttle knob having the "lock".
it had a lot more packaging when it arrived. It was raining when I loaded them in the truck. so when put in the shed so I upacked them mostly and left some cardboard for them to sit on so they did not sit damp. I will say it could have used more because one of the rims has a pretty bad scuff.. oh well.Nice wheels! but gosh that is some really crappy wheel packaging.

Thanks for that tip! I am an art teacher and actually have lots of those so its perfect haha!Makes sense. It would have surprised me if Toyota shipped them packaged with just the cardboard pictured.
A tip: The Sharpie "silver metallic" marker works wonders for touching up those wheels easily. It is about as close you can get to the paint code but not perfect.

Arrogant me. I apparently successfully messed it up.Now that everything is approved to work, I can take it apart again
... to make sure it doesn't work only now, but for the long run...
I started The Knuckle Job.
LH side came nicely apart this evening.
What a mess.
Tomorrow is cleaning and then reassembling.

Oh, they do. All the Japanese-sourced steel wheels have that stylish but useless cardboard hat and nothing else.
For what its worth mine were packed pretty well for what it is I feel like. But I also got them from Toyotaparts.net and they shipped them to me.No bueno.
