Definitely painted it in a closed garage...too windy. Had the respirator on. Came out ok - did the bare minimum of prep so I’ve got some weld spatter and oil and fish-eye and runs and such but I wasn’t trying to make a masterpiece, just keep it fr rusting a little.

Started disassembling the front bumper on my son's truck. Left side was pushing into the flare and ripping it off. He claims he has no idea how this happened ...

Made another attempt at getting the parking brake sorted on the LX ... NOPE. Found a YouTube video from @OTRAMM that I think shows the issue. Pretty sure the engagement arms are stuck. Tanking things apart for a 3rd time and will attempt the proper fix once parts arrive. Hoping to get this sorted and begin the preventative head gasket repair asap. Thanks to @YotaFun for the help trying to sort this out.

Maybe? I suck at the tech names for things. The part the main cable attaches to on both sides behind the backing plates or dust shields or whatever those are actually called.

I found a really good MUD link for my exact truck, so ordered fresh parts. Will then attempt to refurb the old ones for spares.

For all the things Toyota did right on the 80, that was not one of them. Along with the PHH, and intake manifold bolts on the underside rather than topside for no apparent reason.

For all the things Toyota did right on the 80, that was not one of them.

80 series?!!? LOL...it's the exact same part on 60 series.

Actually did some cruiser stuff on the 75....replaced some aluminum caster correction shims with steel, not sure why I even used al in the first place but it's all better now.
Also threw a city racer brake booster at it from a mostly pm stand point. Picked up a brake booster gauge...the pedal feels better but that's probably due to the prior clearance being a little on the excessive side.

Follow the FSM for adjustment, it worked for me everytime. If you follow exactly.

They are currently set at fully in and are rubbing the brand new brake hats I put on. The bell cranks (thanks @brian) are stuck in the engaged position. Will get on that when parts arrive. For now, its wheeling tomorrow and then can start pulling things to do all the front motor seals and head gasket.

dont bother soaking them, no amount will help. they need taken apart.

The ones on the 4Runner, Tacoma, and first gen Tundras like these are notorious for freezing up if you don't use them. I usually get lucky with a little heat and a lot of PB blaster to get them loosened up, then I taken them apart and use emory cloth to clean them up, then use some syl-glide when I put them back together to hopefully prevent them from doing so again.

finished up the led project on the 75 with the replacement of the lic plate lights. the whole idea behind this was to give the electrical system a break, i'd say that was a roaring success. first pic of the amp meter is no lights, second is all of them with the engine off, prior to this it would pull 10-15 amps.

and picked up a new oem toy/accessory
