After unsuccessfully chasing down a coolant burning issue with the original engine I am replacing ti with a later model F engine that has good compression. Came from a friend's running truck. Cleaned it up and replaced the valve cover, lifter cover, and oil pan gaskets and popped in a new OEM rear main. Bouht a band new Aisin clutch and installed. Some photos of the engine and install. Hope it runs as good as I hope it will!
Took me all of ten minutes to pop the transmission and transfer case in, using my chain hoist. Nice working with the top off! Of course everything was cleaned and prepped and ready to go together. Hoping to have everything buttoned up this week.

This 92 comes in our shop for service on the regular. I believe it to be imported from Germany and it's a diesel. Although the seats are hammered I still love a nice Recarro.

I'm not getting to joy of working on it, but I drool on it every chance I get.

I DO hope you asked if he wants to sell it...

Man, you seem to get a nice share of cool Cruisers coming through the shop!

I did not ask the owner if he wanted to sell, but I did speak with him a few years ago when he first got it. I think he paid a mint for it, and I'm sure he wants nothing less. We have quite the mix of things coming through the shop, yesterday the owner was putting axles in a first gen 4runner, although it was nowhere in as good a shape as Andy's

Took my buddies taco to work today to add an ARB winch bumper and do some regular maintenance.

After work my fiancé and I picked up a new addition to heard, a two year old boxer pup which we will be fostering until he finds a permanent home.

Got the dreaded P0420. &@$@! Hoping it is just the winter blend fooling the ecu.

I did. Any pointers are appreciated. Reading up on it in the 80 section.

It probably won't work. I usually clear a code once and hope it doesn't come back.
It doesn't work often.

Btw. What's a p420?
O2 sensor / cats. This could hurt if it's not just the winter formula of gas that Wawa uses.

185k. I contacted the PO and he changed them at 175k when he was ... you guessed it, chasing a P0420 code.
