Hi all,

I'm bolting my 1985 2f back together. Did a massive search and came up with RTV. Would prefer to install the right gaskets. Anyone know of a source for the multi-piece bell housing?

I think he meant the multi piece gasket for the bell housing, I used some flat foam rubber (like for home insulation) about 1" x 1/8" and fipg to glue it...and fipg in the corners.

thanks g-man. You are correct - how is that holding up?

Also doing the five speed swap. I have the coarse spline box from a 2H. Did you go that route?

I just did it not too long ago, when I replaced my Rear main seal. Holding up fine. Really this is just a dust seal. Not critical. Anything to keep the dust and dirt out. Unless you are going to be submerging it. I have a factory 5 speed. The input has coarse splines but think it's the same as my 4 speed splines were. The splines should fit the friction plate on the aisin clutch. I understand there are diff sized snouts so make sure the pilot bearing fits the snout before installing it in the engine crank.

Appreciate it.

you guys mean the lower inspection cover yeah? i just finished my 5 speed swap and i didn’t gasket that at all

seems maybe i should? was there a gasket there originally?

What is the bell housing sealing against...meaning is there an oil passage it seals? Cannot think of a gasket on another bell housing.

Seriously HOT. Love it. Whoever did the flames did a superb job!

It’s metal to metal. Like @g-man said, simple foam rubber can be cut to fit. “Maybe” if not you could get some audible metal vibration type noise IF your screws loosened some.

The lowest point of the cover has a hole in it for oil that seeps from a leaky rear main... that’s it. You can drive w/o the cover, I had for a bit but the lower arch of the flywheel is exposed when it’s off.

Supercharged!!!
Air brush? Oil I imagine? How well will they stand up to heat? Only curious, artist here too, I’d gather you spent good money on heat tolerant paint?

Thanks!
I did the flames. Thread here on how it was done My 2F is on Fire!!!!! Super excited to do something so fun
Way to go. I tend to be like that a times too. Do something I’ve never done w/ no faze... kinda like mechanics and rebuilding an engine.
So that’s gonna go in a 55. What’s the body look like?
