Supercharged!!!
Air brush? Oil I imagine? How well will they stand up to heat? Only curious, artist here too, I’d gather you spent good money on heat tolerant paint?

Not super charged, just using a 2bbl holley that came with it. Modifying it with side hung float and extended vent tube for offroad angles. Lots of posts here and on Pirate showing the success of the mods. It won't be the same as the Aisin but the motor was already hot rodded when I got it. What got me going down the super bling route is that it has Downey's headers and air cleaner. I cleaned up the castings and polished and then thought I'd have a little fun.

Paint is not high heat paint. I've painted many motors and regular paint seems to stick just fine. If the motor is that hot that the paint fails, its got other problems. Header and pulleys are ceramic coated in chrome. Regular paint on the header wouldn't stick.

See that you are an artist - always satisfying to create something.

I figure the flames, polished parts and headers must be good for an extra 300 hp easy:rofl:

Way to go. I tend to be like that a times too. Do something I’ve never done w/ no faze... kinda like mechanics and rebuilding an engine.
So that’s gonna go in a 55. What’s the body look like?

I bought the cab years ago with nothing else. I've had to find everything to go into the build and I'm just about ready. Once the motor and tranny are mated I'll start a real thread. As its never going to pristine I'm going with the rat rod theme.

thats a 1978 fj55 cab with 40 series rear corners welded in

Going onto an 1997 lx450 chassis. So its parts from a fj55, 60 series motor, 40 corners, I have 45 series bed, and 79 series tailgate. All the parts left over after building up or restoring seven trucks

I love this. That motor is sick. And I can't wait to see the build.

Did you chrome, paint or powder coat those pulleys? And did you mention rat rod in a cruiser? Maybe it’s about looks and not speed?!?!? I love it by the way? Also curious to how it holds up to heat. My engine paint didn’t hold up long at all. Whatever hi temp engine paint I bought from NAPA didn’t work for me.
