I removed these from a built 1st gen 4runner, but I dont know what they are called. I know they are aftermarket though. They mounted on the frame and went to the front axle/IFS.

Traction bars??? But don't know why on front of IFS

Maybe one of those kits to prevent axle wrap?

thanks, I think you're right.

You have some sort of IFS lift on it, those are to help stabilize the dropped IFS diff assembly.

Ok, I think you nailed it. It did have a lift on it, pic below is as I got it. Not sure about how much it was but the rears had skyjacker springs.

If you're going to drive it much with the IFS lift in place I'd put those braces back on.

The vehicle was actually parted out and has since been scrapped. The previous owner was in an accident during an ice storm which busted up the right rear quarter and bent the frame. Sadly it wasn't worth fixing so he contacted me which is why I had it. There was a lot of pride taken in his ownership though everything was done very well and top notch

don't suppose you still have all the lift stuff?

Wait its a 1st gen 4runner with ifs? I thought first gens had a SFA on them?

1984 & 85 were SFA. 1986-89 were IFS.

Thank you Pappy

I have the rear springs. I don't have any front suspension parts though.

This x2. I have had an 86 and 89 4runner both with the 22RE. They are great trucks and runners.

Do you have the mounting hardware for the above parts? I have never seen anything like that. I have had several ifs toyotas. I do have an old Downey catalog. I will check it today to determine their purpose. If you have the mounting bits
, I'd be interested in them.

no, but that's just nuts and bolts and should be easy to find. in general, I don't sell hardware with parts, unless someone asks for a part and the hardware and it's not pulled. Even then, I don't guarantee it as it could be rusty, broken, lost, missing, etc. keeping track of every bolt/nut for every part on every truck, what a nightmare that would be and I'd be a Toyota Fastenal!

pm me if interested.
