Major bummer...your truck is one of my favorites on all of 'Mud.

What about the Slee Shortbus? That's my favorite aftermarket bumper and I think it'd look amazing on your truck. I also think it'd clean up nice with some of the Depo glass headlamps.

Sorry to see such a clean rig get hit. This is why my next mod after springs is a steel front bumper of some sort, way too many distracted drivers out there.

time for an arb my friend.

Bummer, such a beautiful Cruiser.

With the lights I would go Light Force. I got the Hella 500's and they add very little to the stock high beams (you will need the Slee harness for any lights you install). This is with 55 watt bulbs. It may be that with HID's or 100 watt bulbs you would get a better output, but then again with the Slee harness you can put 100 watt bulbs in the high beam on the stock light as well.
(nanny warning 100 watt bulbs are likely illegal for road use anywhere).

So sorry to hear. I've got a straight stock bumper and mounts, but you need a Shortbus + Rigid led bar(s).

$3600 wow did you bend the frame?

No, just got all the front end superficial parts. That's what the Toyota house quoted for replacement.

$3600 seems a little high, even with all OEM parts, but is her insurance company actually going to cover that much without totaling

We'll see. Her insurance co. is going to have an adjuster look at it hopefully tomorrow. I'm sure the fight will be on about fixing (bending and bondo) vs. replacing parts.

Why in the world would you go back with a stock bumper??

Definitely not, just being a little sarcastic. Even my son had enough saved up for the Ironman. Now someone else will be buying it. Call me crazy, but it's almost the perfect accident for getting upgraded with some aftermarket goodies. No one got hurt and Toyota parts are high enough which should cover the rest.

Thanks for the kind words. We have spent alot of time and $ on it.

The Shortbus was originally my son's first choice; however, we really need the added protection of a bullbar to smash deers. Depo lights for sure. They look really nice.

I'd wait until you have a check in hand before spending any money...

I hear you. I'll post up what the settlement comes to. It will easily cover what we're wanting though.

Thanks for the offer Jim, I think we have definitely decided on the Ironman Deluxe bullbar.

Everyone, thanks again for all the comments and help in making this my son's awesome Cruiser.
We'll definitely keep the progress posted.

+1 on the short bus.

I had my ARB for 6 years before I hit a f150 and destoryed his tailgate rear top window and sent him into another car. Bent up the Bar some nothing major tho - Sorry to hear. And yes perfect timing for a mod. Still sucks to see after all the hard work. Truck looked good.

I made money on my kids car getting hit in the high school parking lot. My daughter's beater 92 Infiniti Q45 got T boned for $2000 in damage for a car I paid $1700 for. I pulled out the dent, bondo'd it and painted it and 2 years later it got side swiped for another $800 while parked. I didn't bother fixing it. I ended up donating it to a charity and got a tax write off on it too. Too bad I ran out of kids in high school.

ok i really love the look of the ARB but getting into an accident with a strong metel front bumper, wont that bend the frame rails on the front horribly? thats where the impact is going right? and from the impact wont the complete body bend all the body mounts from trying to shift forward in an accident? comparing to a factory bumper that will take the impact and destroy the front end. and the landcruiser's have a fully boxed frame right?

Update. Still waiting on check from the girl's insurance co. An adjuster for her insurance company came out and gave me estimate which was conveniently about 10 bucks more than the dealership (roughly 3,600).

So, we ordered a valance/bumper filler part # 3842 (fits 91-97) on memorial weekend for $125 less 20% and free shipping from Autopartswarehouse.com.

Everything is going good. Fixed all and painted the valance and started installing.

See pics. See anything wrong? Possibly with the 3rd pic? Yes, the grill doesn't line up correctly with the valance and leaves gaps at the bottom.

That's a mean lookin 80. Sorry about the wreck, but congrats on the new bumper :)

Now for Autopartswarehouse.com...

I finally convinced them that the bumper filler/valance was for a 95 to 97 model. I agreed to take a new 95 to 97 grill in exchange for their website mistake. I reluctantly ordered a logo (new style sombrero) off ebay for 20 bucks and it came in.

Today my son tells me the grill assembly came in. He mentioned that it appeared to be in a smaller box than need be but it was labeled the 95-97 toyota land cruiser grill assembly that I ordered. I told him to open it and check it out. Here's what I got and how it looks installed:

Yes it's a freakn roll of brown fabric and some plastic grill thingy....

You have got to be kidding me!!!!:bang:
