What are the chances? Last day of school and girl backs into my son's FJ80.

That bumper is wicked awesome! How much are those?

I got a giggle from your grill, that's pretty funny.

About 1K. I'm on the phone on hold right now with autopartswarehouse trying to sort this out. BTW, your hood vents look awesome.

Update after the phone call. It turns out the plastic grill thingy is a TKY VW07031GB. That part is a
Volkswagen Beetle Primed Black Replacement Lower Grille. The brown fabric was to be shipped to a trim shop in OKC and was for unknown reasons it was packaged separately in the same box from a different origin. Looks like FED EX damaged the original box and placed the two together and shipped to me. Not sure why the VW grill was in there, maybe Autopartswarehouse fault. Anyway, a replacement is being shipped and a return label will follow to return. We'll see...

With the extra cash you could add a Ironman to the rear as well for your sons protection of course.

Update:

Got the second grill in from Autopartswarehouse. No brown fabric and not for a VW. Toyota emblem had to be purchased separately. It is all chrome (lots of Bling) and fits very nicely. Essentially got it for free. They chose to credit my purchases (valance and grill) by 50% to accomodate the original valance issue.

Installing a 95-97 grill on a 92 does require a few mounting modifications. The top two fit perfectly. The bottom middle one needs a new hole drilled in the support to accept the screw. It also needs a spacer installed (I used a nylon spacer that I cut down to about 1/4"). The two side middle mounts need to be brought in about 1" or so and also need a spacer added. I used a 2" long piece of 3/4" aluminum flat stock and some automotive v-clips to achieve this.

Now time to paint the chrome....

Grill and emblem painting done.
First we used the green scotchbrite material to lightly scratch the chrome finishes. Then applied a self etching primer, paint and then clear. Grill was done with Rustoleum graphite wheel paint. Emblem was shot with PPG dune beige.

Now for installing the Lightforce 240 Blitz and winch solenoid box.

Lights and winch wired up. Sprayed truckbed coating on the winch solenoid box to help with the UV rays. Installed a 1 1/2" piece of square tube to raise the lights up. Also we drilled new holes in the Ironman bumper just back and to the outside of the original holes to reset the lights back and further to the outside. Ran the wiring through the original mounting holes. Treated the drilled holes with POR 15 and all is good to go.

With the new bumper, grill, lights and all. The LC is looking better than new in your photo not that it didn't look great before.
Nice job!

Thanks for that site. Did you purchase the jack there as well and did it come all black or did you paint it?

I bought the 48" jack here: Hi-Lift Jack Part HL-484 - 48" Jack

I also picked up the jack isolator and mounts there as well.

The 48" jack originally comes black with a red handle. I taped off the warning label, painted it Dune beige and left the black alone.

Here's another angle:

Looks really good. Come by and chat again some time soon.

Good choice on your bumper. I have the deluxe bumper on my LX and like love it!

Your build has ruined me looking a other 80s. Best looking 80 I have ever seen. I'll have to start looking at 62s now.
