That's a nice machine - a big boy! Probably needs a 100 amp circuit to run it though??

A continuation of the hijack (sorry man) ... went by this afternoon to chew fat with the neigbor. He was cutting some HVAC pieces (works from home). Said I can use the table any time. Now I just need a project.

Might I suggest tailgate storage access panels for 80 series. made out of 1/8 or 3/16 inch alum.

and if you want to go big time, how bout some alum quarter panel pieces, with larger storage panels behind a door.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback.

Budget is in the $2k-$3k range.

I'll have to check the amps on the circuit.

I am new to aluminum, so these machines won't weld aluminum?

That Miller Machine is enticing.

Most multi process machines do not do AC TIG which is required to weld aluminum. Most folks that are looking for AC TIG are also looking for more features that an hobby level machine would have (higher amps, duty cycle, etc). All that in one machine would be very expensive and large...losing the appeal of the multi process machines.

The Lincoln square wave 200 and Miller entry level TIG machines will do AC and DC TIG but if you want mig you need another machine.

Thanks for the the info. Maybe I just need to buy a dedicated TIG like mentioned before and keep the MIG I have.

Droooool.

I use a 200 Multimatic in the shop. Awesome machine. It's small enough I can put it in a cart that holds two tanks. I weld ALuminum a lot with it. Spool gun works just fine for what we do. Not like we are building radiators or custom intakes. And if we do we just gind the weld smooth. Though I've gotten pretty good at the spool gun and the miller makes it ten times easier than my Miller 170.
