When I did mine, my arm/disarm switch went directly to the ground side of the winch. The switch I used was a fog light switch that lit up when the swithch was in the on (winch armed) position. Doing it this way also enables/disables the hand held controller. Therefore, the winch can only be operated when your incabin arm/disarm switch is in the on position.

I have isolated the problem to the winch motor by applying 12V+ to F1 and then contacting F2 and A with the motor ground and nothing. Trying the other combination and 12V+ to F2 and then contact F1 and A and again no response from the motor. This sanfu has come at my own oversight, and well determination to get this feature installed in the rig. I have contacted a local WARN dealer who has a replacement motor for $189., available next week. So until then I will be removing the existing set up to confirm no further damage. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in on this thread as I am still determined to finish what I originally set out to accomplish.
