I've dug around a bit but can't find any good reference images here for a M8000 or M12000 install on a 55... Anyone here running one that can provide some good pics and share some advise? I know the 8274 is the period correct electric option but I prefer the look of a lower profile on the 55s (the 8274 looks better on a 40 IMO).

From my research, the 8274 won't fit without the OEM frame extensions and/or extensive modifications to the frame and bumper. Just FYI. Sorry; no help on your question per se but thought I would pass that along anyway.

My granddaughter and I came up with this to mount the M8000 on the front of my pig.

I was hoping I could fit a M8000 in and do the same thing with a stock bumper and rails... looks very doable.

what is holding that outer piece to the frame? I see you aren't utilizing the two outboard threaded holes.
Mounts to the factory mounts on the side.

Also ties into the winch mount.

Those threaded holes are 25mm and are threaded 1-1/8" deep tied to the frame, the pink swivel-eyes thread into them for recovery points. These threaded inserts keep the treads clean and dry when not in use.

You absolutely could do the same thing with a factory bumper, my winch mount is made from 3/8” plate and mounts behind the factory bumper mounting points and my new bumper was made dimensionally similar to my old factory bumper and uses the same mounting holes.
