VIPER

One is Viper Venezuela and the other one is Viper USA (VPR 4x4).

Both are the same, but different location.

If you want I can give a quote on their products. just give me your complete address and what product you want.

I think one represents the manufacturer and one represents U.S. sales.

You are correct. I think somewhere he has his wires crossed/confused or whatever. VPR add ons may be good quality, just haven't heard much about them here in the States.

Hmm, not nice, better check before you go on saying such things.

They are one of only two off road builders that mass produce their bumpers, using high end production methods, best on our country at least. They used to be custom, decided which designs were best and went on from there..

Remember the prices include the US import as they are made in Venezuela, so you cant really compete with the US made bumpers.

MR jits, ive seen plenty of crashes involving tube bumpers and these are the ones ive seen held up best, the stuff they hit, not so much. Getting into a crash is not what im looking for when i buy a bar, and they will stand up to off road abuse and animal strikes without even flinching.

I back my comments up with first hand experience, most people I travel with have this brand of equipment on their cars, I dont, but im looking to get one of their roof racks for my 90 series.

Lugueto & JC,

I bet one of the problems here is most people on 'Mud don't speak Espanol. That makes it hard for us to find the extra information and real world validation we want to see. We can easily go and read on Australian websites and see pictures of Australian (ARB, Safari, etc...) products, as well as Canadian, British, South African, etc...

Could you find some good pics of these products on real world vehicles on Venezuelan / Latin American websites and post them here? Americans like to see real pics of real people using products, not professional photos from professional competitions or glitzy car shows. It makes us feel more comfortable that this is something a normal person would spend their money one when we see normal people using them the way we will use them.

Thanks!

PICTURES

No problem, will post more pictures in my profile and more details of my bumpers.

Anyone know what the tabs/loops sticking out off the stinger are for? Seems like rockcrawling those would get bent up pretty quick. Also seems like the little end caps could get messed up quick too. I guess that is why they are rally bumpers not rock crawling bumpers? Also no D-rings? Looks like one picture has one but that might be on the stock tow point?

EDIT: just found this too: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/517465-nice-bumpers-venezuela.html

LOOPS

The loops are to coil in the wich wire when you are using it a lot in a trip (no need to roll it in and out every time you use it). You can also attach the pulling straps. We used it a lot during th Funrace 4x4 in Venezuela.

D ring: you use the original jooks.

:meh:

I think Mike from Bumpit Offroad has a better product at half the price. Plus the stinger doesn't stick out like an oversized probiscus.

LIFT

Let me look for a picture lifted by the bumpers with a forklift.

Mall cruiser material, but I'd kill it bouncing it off a tree.

Are the rear bumpers tow rated? I see what looks like a pintle hitch on the one on the vpr4x4 USA website.

I have mine with a pintle hook and I've tow a a serie 80 on a trailer with no problem.

Bumpers are tow rated, I believe. They use the original bolts on the rear crossmember to attach a hitch receiver, pintle hook or what not. Good for towing, not good for recovery. I dont have a Viper bumper, i use Inti made bumpers, but use the same system.

Will try to get pictures of the bumpers in action, ill post them up later on.

I think they'd withstand just as much as any other tube bumper. Not sure on the rock crawling since we dont really have that kind of wheeling down here, so they havent been made or tested for such a purpose. Dont see why they wouldnt work though, the departure angles are great. Not minimalistic, but im guessing if you want to mount up to a Warn 8274 you cant really ask for minimalistic without trimming the vehicle anyway.

I would be impressed by that, but I'd be even more impressed by a listing of a materials that shows what its made of. Wall? .120 or .250? Metal thickness? Attachment point thickness?

With credentials like the Outback Challenge and Dakar, I'd say it has proven itself fine. I personally don't care for the cable wraps on the bar, but I know it's popular in some areas. If I still had my 80, I'd have no problem running one.

BOTH

Will find out both!!!!
