Victory blitz bumper for GX460? Has anyone tried? (2 Viewers)

I haven't done much driving with it to avoid being the jerk driving around the suburbs with his lightbar on but it does match the beam/output pattern on Diode Dynamic's website and puts out a lot of useful light. I think the price of high end stuff like Baja Design is ridiculous and the cheap lightbars might look the part but don't actually produce useful light for driving. I'm hoping this works as some kind of super fog light but will need to actually get out in the fog/dust to see.

You hit the nail on the head. I've used (and loved) Diode Dynamics before. They're huge in the Ford Raptor community, and are quickly becoming just as big in the Bronco community. They're just a good as Baja Designs, but not quite the price IMO.

Nice to hear that they live up to the marketing.

I got a blitz bumper sitting in the garage. I have heard the same story of having to take multiple efforts to trim. just read the review at the bottom of their product page. Same story.

I'm trying to block out a whole weekend to do the install.

@Banandalorian I thought this piece was only for the 2020+ grills.

I have a prototype bumper and the extra piece was included. I don't see on Victory's website where you select '14-19' or '20+' so it may just come with every bumper. You need it on the 2020+ to fill in a gap that would look weird with the new front grille design. The 14-19 doesn't need it since it matches the horizontal slots in the rest of the grille. My buddies and I went back and forth but for the time being I decided it looked better with the front license plate. It's 4 allen bolts and lock nuts so it's not a huge effort to add/remove later.

It took us the better part of a Saturday afternoon and evening to install. But that also included getting the lightbar wiring set up, pizza and beer break(s), and 2 young kids "helping" in the garage. I'd say once you get the OEM crash bar off, thread a couple of the old bolts in as locating-pins, get the bumper situated and flush with it's front frame mounts, and then mock up a template for the cuts. I was way too conservative with my initial cuts for fearing of chopping off too much and I bet most at-home installs do the same.

How did you mount that license plate?

Looks super nice, I found a white lexus also in another thread. Ok.. I am going to order my front bumper next week I think. THANK YOU !!!!

ty, it's sure worth the wait and baja designs is the way to go on overall output and warranty/quality.

I ordered some baja design lights for black friday ( in nov) - and I hope to be getting them next week.

but for baja designs you mean for the led light bar in the middle? What do you recommend / have

also for the wench - I know a lot of people do the evo-8( I think) or 10, but it looks like you have a different wench on there.

I have a baja designs s8 20" lightbar. You can actually swap out the lenses to whatever color you prefer.

As for my winch it is a Warn VR EVO8-S.

thank you - the same winch I was planning on getting. - so far no problems with it?

and I will see about the baja designs s8 20" - I have been happy in the past with baja designs so I will most likely use them again.

Also you did the back bump as well?

Honestly I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, as ive been working 55+ hour weeks including weekends. This snow storm gives me a break but not any chance to go outside because of the ice here in texas.

And yes I had the back bumper done as well.

I understand completely. Normally the start of the year is SUPER BUSY for me. However, I got covid the 2nd week of Jan, and still recovering. I think so far this year, I have been out of the house twice, and driven maybe 5 miles total. I am finally up and moving and feeling better, that is why I am trying to take care of all of this before I get crazy slammed next week at work.

what lights are those if I can ask?

Did you get any the arms ( adventure arms or carries) - the reason I ask is that last Nov, I went out with a lot of GXOR guys on a run. One of them had an ARB rear bumper (gx470) and another person had a cheaper bumper - they look almost 100% the same - HOWEVER - the cheaper bumper rattled and made all types of noise. I was hoping that the rear victory bumper with the arms was not super noisy.

Sorry to hear about that!

Those lights are also baja designs as well. The same ones victory had listed on their website. I don't get any rattles. I also plan on ordering a rear tire carrier, but am beefing up my suspension before as I also have a drawer system, so balancing out all that weight is a must.

I don't have a front plate. I bought the car used and it didn't come with one.

If I got the fix-a-ticket for one, I'd probably get one of those over the winch license plate holders.

I installed the bumper a couple of weeks ago, just haven't taken any pictures yet.

Who has this bumper install - would you be so kind to make few photos from the bottom of the vehicle? There is not one in the Internet :).
Also did you need to remove support brackets of the OEM skid plate (like these ones: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cl..._c81ed7a81172068e1d56f568bd480b3d023dd567.jpg) ?

The reason I ask - I have non-victory4x4 skid plates and I want to understand will there be any fitment issue with this bumper?

Thanks!
