It’s been a weird day for sure. So you got this hose for your 3B? Not the 12HT?
I’m hoping this new one fits. The guy screwed up, made it too short. It’s only 1/2” shorter than
original.

Can't get a pressure hose for either. NLA. :meh:

Hence the experiment with the 2L hose. Haven't tried it on the 12 yet

Just ordered from Megazip. They had a 10% coupon today. With shipping in US dollars. But getting factory replacements. Won’t be here until end of month. I’m not worried, I just hope I can make this one work. If not - I wait.
And swap plates to the 74! LOL!

Cool, hopefully they have it.

They sometimes list stuff they don't actually have ...

Tpd actually showed hj60 rads for 500 bucks. Didn't exist tho. :meh:

The order has gone through. I got a temporary hose made. Seems to be working.
I lost 3 Litres of oil from my house to Ryan’s, glad I called a tow truck.
All back together now. Car wash next, leak check. good to go I think.

Amayama has them too by the look of it. Curious to see the lengths.

Happy to be wrong, but it looks like the ones I have will fit so I'll deal with them when I'm back in that area of the engine bay next week.

No more rusting in the front after that.

I carry spare pressure and drain hose after that happened to me years ago.
Can’t imagine how this would have gone somewhere north of PG. Funny when I did the turbo upgrade I
didn’t even give them a thought. Primarily since they have no movement. But that return line - it was
ugly rotten and broken down. I will install the new ones when I get them and the old ones will go in the bag with spare belts. Erik’s Hydraulics stocked the metric banjo fitting, only had one. They installed some
triple wrapped 1150 PSI wire impregnated hose, which caused me no end of grief.
Simple 125 psi oil/fuel line would have worked better, been cheaper, and been flexible enough to install without effort.

You can get banjo fittings with a hose barb. Probably be good things to have around for the quick fix.
Like this.

Had a thought in the middle of the night, had to go outside with a coffee and check.

Vac fitting off the pump is the same banjo as the oil drain.

bolt one of those onto the engine and connecting with a good chunk of oil hose and done.

One extra hose clamp isn't the end of the world. Think I'll do that to my 3b today, where that new oil hose is way too short.

Also found this weird ****er... might just be handy for adding a turbo one day :hmm:

I figured that out 14 mm banjo, uses the same bolt diameters. I’ve been reusing the copper washers.
I used a long socket over the outlet pipe on the vacuum pump to bend it out of the way of the turbo boot.
All good now.
Is there any way to test the Amperage output of an alternator?

Yeah for my 3b the hard line with good hose is an easy fix.

With alternator testing...

Probably easiest to stop by an auto electric shop and they clamp on something fancy to load it up .

Not sure you can get a great reading with a multi meter...?

I think most conventional multi-meters are limited to 10A. The clamp style go way higher. You'd most likely have to turn every light and accessory on, bring rpm up from idle to where the alternator should begin charging, and measure Amps and Voltage output. But, I'm dangerous with electrical stuff...

Yeah, the magic smoke stays in stuff better when I leave it alone. :hillbilly:

Ah, so better left to professionals with proper fire suppression equipment.
