I’m looking for some honest input on a rough value of a Canadian 1986 BJ70 LHD 3B diesel. Body is in very rough shape, interior is ok. 600,000km. Vehicle runs and drives and has aftermarket turbo. Other than that it is basically stock. Vehicle is located in Canada and looking for a Canadian dollar value. There are not many for sale so hard to judge what it is worth. Thanks in advance! (Also if this is not the right spot for a thread like this let me know)

@andrew7elk , You are in the right spot, but this question gets asked a lot ....quite a few threads on the topic. Anyway, body in bad shape and 600k on the vehicle is quite a bit Of mileage....unless doing body work is a pastime of yours, $5000 - $7000 USD sounds about right.

Something in very good condition seems to go in the $20,000 range. Be patient and keep looking, unless you need a project to work on. That would be my advice...

When I was looking for one I noticed that auto transmission is less valuable than manual.
I eventually found a manual one on Kijiji.

My 1986 BJ70 5 speed with rough body was $5000 Can but has pto winch, lift, bumpers gears and locker. From your description I wouldn't pay more than $2500

There is one local to me that has been for sale for awhile. I have seen it in person and it is extremely rough. Rust holes in it the size of dinner plates. Last I heard he wanted $6k and like I say he been trying to sell it awhile, like over a year.

The Canadian BJ70’s are definitely cool but I am not so sure I would pay $20k for even a pristine one. Super slow and super bouncy so for me not a lot of fun to drive.

Cheers

Its worth the value of the parts you can get off it. If the chassis has rust, its not worth much at all

I saw this. Owner wants $60000

sounds about right 😁

What ?! 😲 All digits correct?
For 60k$ I'd expect a well restored item in collectors condition, not a tuned rig.
Cheers Ralf

Hello,

x2.

Canadian market truck?

The LX badge on the back is suspicious.

Juan

Pretty sure all canadian models were LX as both of mine are, but they put it in the wrong place after the repaint for sure
