Those posts and photos from Yotatech are mine, I had also replied to this thread (my post is 1st one on 2nd page). My gearbox has been running for over a year now so can confirm mod works with no issues.
The Marlin Crawler mod using all R452 gears gives you the deeper 1st 2nd & 3rd, but nearly identical overdrive 5th. And of course as with any five-speed transmission, the same 1:1 4th.
The R452 5th gear mod (and Terrain Tamer mod), gives you the...
So I've picked up over half of the parts of an R151F 86-87 22RTEC trans, missing rear housing transfer adapter and many small parts (I got all the gears and main case, all for the average cost of just the 22RTEC R151F bellhousing), and am keeping...
I would normally suggest air is getting in, but if you are getting fuel out of the return pipe any air would have bled out. Almost nothing from the delivery valves on the back of the pump would suggest fuel is not getting into the distributive...
Well, if you are certain you glow plugs are getting hot; maybe try cracking lose the hard fuel lines at each injector, one at a time to ensure there is no air in the system. Other than that, Not sure what it could be.
What was the outside air temperature when you couldn't start it? I put a manual glow (Wilson Switch) on my 2LT and eliminated the "Super Gliow" system when I changed over from the older style 2LT to 2LTII. I don't even need to manual glow her...
@ccasteel , Did you search around Ebay Italy and France? PM them on Ebay. They are usually responsive. The junk yards over there a bit more organized from what I can see. They will probably go pull it for you if you ask nicely and ship it...
Haters gonna hate, But I'd start out listing it for at least $2K. It is a 2LT-II. It has the newer head. No Computer Harness to worry about. Mechanical IP. It has AC. Fly Wheel attached for MT. Someone will buy it.
Where is it leaking from? I had a leak on mine from a random o-ring and was able to swap out the o-ring while it was on the truck.
Couple other people on here had a leak from the top and thats another gasket that can be replaced without...
Sounds like 1000-1500ish might be a good starting spot to see I guess. Definitely hard to get parts for a 2LT it seems, but I know this thing is going to take some work.
Thanks all!
@preveng , Call J&S Diesel in Las Vegas. They did my pump a few years back for around $800. Less than a week turn-around. It has been running flawlessly since. Skip the middle man, and go to the people that actually rebuild them. I'm sure...
I got $500 for the Injection Pump alone. I kept the oil pan, oil cooler, starter, alternator for spares. Sold the Block and what remained in 30 minutes on Craig's List for $200. That was about 8 years ago.
@LivLandCruizer ,you "did some research and have concluded the cylinder head is cracked." Did you research forums or research under the hood and under the vehicle. A cracked cylinder head generally won't lose coolant as fast as a cracked...
I had a similar issue in mine, I removed the level sender inside the tank through the inspection window under the carpet, cleaned it well (contacts and everything), and it worked fine then.
I second this hitch. There is also a factory option for split rear bumper trays too which is what I did. Although I think I might like @chap79 's notched version better?
I used this. Had to make a cut in the aluminum to make it fit but it turned out well.
CURT 13091 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2-Inch Receiver, Fits Select Mitsubishi Montero
Something like this but you have to find the right bolt pattern that matches your trucks. I personally wouldn’t tow with this but should work fine for a bike rack
8408.20 is diesel engines for the propulsion of vehicles
The next number, 20, indicates the motor is for use in passenger cars and/or light duty trucks
The last number, 00, is just a place holder since there’s no further categorization...
Need intended use, number of cylinders and displacement to get the correct code.
For example, for a 4 liter, 6 cylinder diesel for use in a Landcruiser, start at 8408.20.20.00
Whatever you have should be close to that.
Yes, I removed and replaced all the crush washers and thoroughly cleaned the seats along with replacing the heat shield washers and the leakage pipe washer with the holes then torqued the injectors to spec.
When I put everything back together I...
Hopefully you bought and installed brand-new aluminum crush washers for the nozzle tips. You can't re-use those. You also need to clean the seat in the head that they sit on. If this work is not done, then they leak and the nozzle will get...
After some tips for getting the doors and front fender to line up on a SWB 70 series. Rear edge is ok.
Doors are aftermarket Chinese and have been difficult to get siting right. Is the front fender able to be adjusted?
Thanks!
You need to verify the turbo drain actually drains. Disconnect the hose from the turbo, stick a funnel in it. You should be able to rapidly and continously pour lots of oil down the tube without it backing up. Turbos cannot tolerate ANY...
