Reproduction rear heater motor with fan. Fits well and works great. Expected to be released in March.
This version is based on the one in my truck ('79-'80), so it's single speed as with all such motors from '74+. For other years the plug is different, but you should be able to swap in your old plug.

- this would be the 2pin / 2 speed speed OEM male and female bullet connector's Roger ...

- there was NOT a polarized dedicated white w/ black tracer stripe ground till later , maybe not even till the 1982 plastic console ? not exactly sure

- this can now run that updated post 2-speed need to those who like a reliable non-chassis ground reliance

- the H- KNOB switch / fan blower motor in engine bay 3-pin variant is in production now too .....

- i have these 2-pin kits now .....

@Racer65

Racer-X is truly a original professional mechanical TEq Artisan .... 👨‍🎨

,

- take note of the 3-mini-rubber-motor-mounts he has between the 3 feet and the sheet metal base , secured with the OEM-Period Correct concave-cupped fender washers .....

- 3 J.I.S. P-2 Phillip's head screws too ...

- hence = anti-vibration motor mounts / trans-dog-legs hockey pucks

- this is 100% OEM period correct in every single way ......:wrench::wrench::wrench:

- this details that matter-spec. / matter do details , is in my opinion , the most meaningful and significant parts of what he has crafted , designed and engineered above ...

That's pretty cool! It was fun to refurbish my originals, but I def would have picked up a new motor if available at the time.

Seems you could just add a resistor and ground to chassis like the older version to make it 2 speed for those with the older 2 speed "H" switches.

@ToyotaMatt that’s great because I inherited 8 fans. Thanks for making unobtanium possible.

@Racer65 where'd you go? You used to post a lot of goodness here. I loved coming here once a week or so and catching up on your new ideas.
I'm still alive and well! As I look back to post #1, it's hard to believe this thread is nearly 10 years in the making. I'm still doing various projects, and the easiest way to follow is by going to the "Latest" section of the City Racer website. As I get more and more stuff into the store, I'm mindful not to commercialize this thread too much.

Despite more parts getting discontinued by Toyota and its affiliates, I feel the support for our vehicles are still strong. I can't think of another classic car hobby with so many resources for parts and experts in every domain. You can just about restore and drive a Cruiser and be supported like it's a current production vehicle! What I worry about is what happens in the next 10 years when many of the senior members of this community retire. I was talking to my son, who recently graduated with a degree in marketing. He was telling me how he can help me with social media campaigns to make the business bigger. I told him that's exactly the opposite of where I'm heading, because in 10 years I'll be in a rocking chair and I don't know how to end this gig :D

In a brake related thread I mentioned that I'm setting up a small shop to bring back some of the unobtainium products of the past. I'm starting this new thread to expand on some thoughts so that I don't hijack the other thread.

As our hobby is expanding while the vehicles are getting older and more perishable items are becoming "NLA", it's getting harder to keep our vehicles stock. There are many creative solutions out there, but if you're like me, you want parts to be plug and play and designed to fit your vehicle. On this premise, I decided to tackle certain specific needs that are on the "low margin, high effort" side of the spectrum that Toyota and other suppliers won't ever care to play in. I figure no corporation can fill this niche better than a Cruiser enthusiast.

After much due diligence, I've got a couple of confirmed products coming through the pipeline, and a couple more in the concept stages being actively investigated. Feel free to pitch new ideas at me. Whatever I bring to market has to be reasonably priced. Personally I don't feel OEM prices are reasonable.

I'll end this post with a teaser pic. In a few days I'll be offering this unobtainium air intake hose for the '79 to '84 FJ40. Exact OEM replacement, oval on one side round on the other, brand new.

Fantastic idea! I look forward to seeing what all you offer.

I feel your pain. I'm wondering the same thing for the 28 drive train shift plates and the bypass hoses. And then the inventory of all those plates is getting huge. No one in my family cares because it's not enough money. In your
Case with all the parts it's a larger business. But like me what do you do about your inventory that you made in advance? Will your son keep it going? At some point the market will die as the younger kids loose interest in the old classics. It's a dilemma we ultimately will have to solve. Or not and let the kids who inherit it deal with it.

@shipmag which means I just need to buy several plates from you before you decide to do something else. I already have a bypass hose on my HJ61. Supporting ALL cruiser vendors who make independent products ....

Been doing it a long time. When he decides it's my time it's my time. I'm only 72 but at 48 they told me I had a mind of an 80 year old. So who knows how long we have. All these monies goes to my project team in Haiti and the Philippines. So thanks for the support! Glad your a happy Mudder customer!!

What about horns for the 40s? Mine look like heck. Not sure if they work or not yet. Are horns hard to find or like grains of sand in my floorboard after a trip to the beach?
Man I put a Denali SoundBomb on my bike and it sounds like an 18 wheeler or freight train coming when I hit it! I'm going to put 2 on my FJ40!!! Woohoo!!!

@shipmag :

"I'm only 72 but at 48 they told me I had a mind of an 80 year old." For thousands of years the Asian cultures revered their older citizens as wise, and treasured the wisdom and intelligence they had accumulated over a lifetime. So sad in our present American disposable culture, that we put our oldest folks with their amassed knowledge and tested experiences out to pasture, rather than learn from them some very valuable hard-earned lessons on life and living. There will be a price to be paid.

You're on the right side of history, seeing the value in a time-tested well-built older vehicle. Have to chuckle at the young-uns riding around in their battery-powered self-driving plastic cars, so enamored with their latest computer screens and talking assistants. There's Artificial Intelligence and then there's Real Intelligence. I know which I'd rather have, and I think so do you !
