I was planning on typing all the reasons you're full of **** when I got home tonight but you just did it for me. The reason things suck is because of your way of thinking outlined in the quoted post. It all started a long time ago, granted there's nothing we can do to change it and it's only going to get worse, but it's crap like this that keeps fanning the flames.

Sounds to me like Dohc is for a smaller less regulatory goverment to me based off of those qoutes above, and I can't find fault with that. His statements seem to lean toward Liberterian ideals and that is okay with me, not sure why that makes him full of ***** So does your objection to his statements mean you desire a "Big Brother" "Nanny State" type of goverment

I didn't say i agreed with abortion, drugs, gays or wearing clemson orange on game day. But i can tell you that i DO NOT agree with socialized health care. Sharing the wealth is not why i work my ass off 40-50 hours a week. I don't own a gun either but i support everyones right to own a gun.
I think everyone has the right to make their own decisions and the very last person i want getting into my buisess is the government.
The US government siezed and took controll of a brothel in Nevada then proceded to drive it into the ground.
This has been years ago.
I don't want any government that can fail at selling sex to tell me how i am allowed to live my life.
If a buisness owner in downtown greenville who wants to sell hamburgers, porn and pot on main and coffee with topless waitress let him and on top of that he wants his customers to be able to smoke in his shop more power to him.
So long as he keeps minors out and his patrons inside whats the harm in that? He's running a legit buisness. No one is forcing people into that smoke filled establisment to see ta tas, buy pot, porn or hamburgers. It's a privately owned buisness and so long as he is not raping, robbing, killing or stealing why should we want big brother to step in?
If customers don't like buying pot, porn and hamburgers in a smokey joint with topless waitressse they can easily just not go in the door.
I don't like bed bath and beyond. It stinks. It's like a perfume factory puked in there. I don't like the prices, i don't like the products. Do i write my congresssman and tell him to shut it down? NO. I simply don't go there.
People are too busy worring about what Jim Bo Bob is doing to stop and have an origional thought.
Stop complaing about what your neghbors are doing and take care of your own buisness. Until your life is so perfect that everyone on earth should follow you or else they are complete failures no one has any right to tell someone else how they should live theirs.
I don't know how anyone else was brought up but i was always taugt not to judge others even if they do have a tiger paw on their clothing. I think our gov't should follow the same principals.

i'm not a true liberal...I'm all for the death penalty. I don't want my tax dollars to support those 80 year sentences when it could be going toward my social security so i can retire at 65 an become a beach bum and drink beer on the beach all day everyday.

You can't say the words "smaller goverment" and "Liberal" in the same thought as the two are polar oppisites All of your quotes above are themed in the Libertarian montra "Minimum Goverment, Maximum Freedom!" if you think you are a liberal you need to do some research on what a liberal is, LOL you my friend are a closet Libertarian and just don't know it

yes...i do have liberteraian ideals and i feel that anyone who supports the constitution and supports the true meaning of democracy should also have similar ideals.
Freedom is not for the lazy or the greedy. The issues we have today all stem from americans being lazy and greedy.
for those that think america would be a better place without illegal immigrants, guns, drugs, gay marriage or the pro choice argument....you are living in la la land.

I didn't read anymore of the dribble (just enough to know that y'all think you want to have a discussion and you're provoking me) I'll just post my brief, general thoughts and be done.
You say all that crap above because it doesn't affect your home. "They" do ______ in the "privacy" of their own homes and "government" shouldn't have anything to say about it. The fact is, it DOES affect your home everyday. It affects everything you do everyday. You may not see it, but it does and it has a negative consequense. The reason you don't see it is because WE ALL have turned a blind eye and have become complacent to the downward spiral. No I'm not for "big Brother" or big gov-co. I want to share my wealth as I see fit. Not through tax dollars (we all do have a monetary obligation to the government--I'm not trying to say we shouldn't pay any taxes--different conversation). More like charity, Church and Scouting and the benefits UC and other clubs have put together. When you choose to ignore, you're doing just as much harm as the offense itself. The problem here is, you don't think it's an offense in the first place.
That's the big picture of my thoughts on the subject. I'd be glad to continue the conversation through email, phone or at the pub when I'm in town, but not here. I just couldn't let it slide. I can't stand it when people think that way. (I'm sure you're saying the same about me. I would if I were in your shoes.) But, that's the main reason I stay out of political discussions most of the time.
