Thanks for the link John! I'll check him out.

You've got it pegged pretty well. I know that it appears that the fabric pattern has taken this long to come up with. But in reality, softtop guy has been holding off a bit on the fabric, waiting to see what we can come up with bow-wise.

We've also spent a fair amount of time discussing various material and design options. We want something that is very high quality, yet still affordable. Frankly, the fabric production has been a non-concern for us. They really don't take that much time for him to produce. If he were just making one top for one rig it would be done in no time flat.......But with the idea of mass production, we've had to make certain that it will be made in a way that is desirable to the majority of Cruiser guys....and not just what one person wants. We also have to double check that it fits on other FST rigs, to be sure that our set up isn't "tweeked" in some way........

All that said......the fabric is basically a done deal. There's nothing left to figure out there.;) We have all of the materials and supplies. Buckles, footman loops, etc. We'll get it tested by 82cruiser.....If he's happy....then they're for sale.

I'm not at liberty to give a price yet, I'll let you know ASAP. I'm still saying that it will be "affordable", and can be produced/delivered with very little wait..... I'm sure that you'll want to see the finished product first. Plus, I'm looking forward to softtopguy posting up himself to tell you in detail what has been improved upon. I think you guys will be impressed. You ain't seen nuthin' yet.:)

Anyway, if you have an OEM style bow set and you need fabric, keep in touch.....they'll be ready to order soon!

I don't know if its been discussed, but what about replicating the bows in fiberglass?

Make molds from the originals, then build from there... Fiberglass is strong stuff...

Just a thought...

I like the look of the soft top so far:cool::cool::cool:. Keep it up...I already have the OEM bows, just need the top:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Also have bows need top. if anybody is keeping count?

Of course we don't expect anyone to make a purchase decision yet. ;) I know that it would be really encouraging to softtopguy to hear that there are a good number of people interested in buying just the fabric. We have no idea how many OEM bow sets there are left, and have wondered if there was enough interest/demand to warrant producing the fabric by itself. We're going to give it a go. Thanks

Yeah, Greg has my bows, so I'll need a just a top as well.....since you are keeping count. :)

Top only - 7 window in khaki - quality (material the biggie) and price dependant.

I would be a top only customer also:cheers:

Thanks,
Vince

I am interested in all parts to make the top since I don't have anything

Not to put any more on highland and softtop's plate but any thoughts given to a half top? What do you guys think? Found this in a vintage man-a-fre mag.

Oh my! I can't believe this looks like it's going to happen! I tried to read the whole thread (super long) but I'd like an OD Green Canvas one, and need the bows and all the "stuff."

I will be looking for just a top down the road a bit. I have the bows and all..... price dependant of course:hhmm:

As a matter of fact, softtopguy and I were discussing that while I was in Raleigh. :)

We haven't put much thought into yet. The myriad of roll cage designs was his first concern.....Could be done for the factory rollbar guys though. :hhmm:

Cannot wait to hear about pricing on the top...also cannot remember if you guys were planning on doing any bikini tops.

I am getting ready to pull my hardtop in the next week or so and am looking :D

Also, just for giggles, my favorite piece of cruiser porn from the mag. The girl with the untamed hair , the dog, the cowboy hat and bell bottoms, and resting on your rig for a sunset vista. . .it just takes me to my happy place. A beer commercial if there ever was one.

I'd love a color poster of this shot if anyone happens to know who owns the rights.
