Don’t forget lube. White lithium grease is what i hosed mine down with. I also put a set screw through the outer shell right into the cap. And then i proceeded to get manual cloth seats too. Trend?

I just reupholstered my seats so not going with clothe. Kind of done with the stock seats. Going to post them up for sale and go with aftermarket seats.

This is my temp solution. Testing this out for the next week before I pull the trigger on a pair. I plan to use SEM tan vinyl paint to math them up to the lx450 interior and call it good. Oh and figure out the seat belt attachment but that’s an easy fix
Corbeau RS reclining racing seats.

They are not as comfortable ( my seats are pretty comfy with the additional material I I stalled in them) as the stock seats but pretty close.

Del, I've installed several sets of these in builds per customer request. They are pretty comfortable.

I know I've sat in some seats that other guys were like "Dude, this seat is so comfortable! It holds you right in place!" Yeah....nothing like massive side bolsters right in the middle of your BEEFCAKE thighs!

That being said, I've never tried the seats that Stan is showing. They may be just fine for "husky" fellers, for all I know. :)

My big azz fits in them. Del @SFROMAN I have an 80 here with them already mounted if you want a true seat of the pants experience.

I'm also cross posting this in the buying forum; I've asked on both the 80 and 100 forums with no luck.

I need to know if I can swap a '95-'97 A343 into a '00 LX470. I need to rebuild the '00 xmsn and don't want it in the driveway without a way to go while I'm doing it. I plan to rebuild the '95s A343s ( I have two) at a later time and will keep the donor until I'm done with all three, then it's on the market.

The unit part numbers are different, but that doesn't really mean anything. I think the '98 A343 got upgraded solenoids so it can run at higher pressure, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work in a '95, or vice versa. I think the bellhousing/engine bolt pattern is also different, but, again, that's a bolt on part and not the gearbox. Even if the wiring harness was different, it'd just be a matter of making a new xmsn pigtail to fit the '00, or at the very least, swapping the connectors.

Managed to replace the front suspension on my 4R today, went with the Eibach ProTruck lift. Removing XREAS was simple and I managed to not get sprayed with hydraulic fluid. I bought new KYB top hats for the front coils and went with the "no spring compressor" method of install - it was actually simple and effective.

Going to do the rear in the morning, looking forward to wrapping this up. The XREAS rode great, but both rear shocks showed leakage, and the factory springs are/were very sagged. Eibach said to expect 2.75" lift over stock up front on the lowest spring setting, I'm about 4" above from where the 16 yr old suspension was. Expecting a near-level stance when done, which would be perfect.

I'm searching for a good Charlotte area bodyshop that can repaint my '94 green hood. The clearcoat is nasty, but the paint and panel are in good shape. I plan to strip the extra bits and remove/reinstall it myself.

I used to take all my work to Town & Country, because the bodyshop manager and staff were excellent, but they've hired a new "master paint specialist" who knows so much more than you about painting that he doesn't need to listen to you when you tell him what you want. He actually told me he needed to match the faded paint on the body and had to charge extra for the effort.

I'm not worried about price, I only care about quality. Supposedly there is a really good custom/restoration shop somewhere in Charlotte, but I can't find it. I really don't want to deal with a shop that, like most of the industry, lives off of insurance claims.

Mid-Project Anxiety:
it was on pinhead video #2 when JoyRidaz started to get a bit overwhelmed and struck with a case of the dark thoughts... did I just ruin a good running fj60 in my quest for a perfectly running truck? All these tiny spring and ball bearings look the same... will my hectic dad life cause me to forget my parts in the chem dip causing them to fully dissolve... stay tuned, maybe it’ll run again by Sunday after a couple over night soaks in the toxic bubble bath followed by a couple days of fighting my dislexia ... that is if I can also figure out where all the black spagetti goes back. Overall it def has a good amount of carbon buildup but compared to the carb on my forty a few years back, this is a pretty decent starting point!

A mouse nest or something from 1992 drenched in black oil from 2010-2020... nasty mess. Ordered a valve covered gasket from mr T which will be a stocking stuffer

So much black spagetti to keep track of... a few near the engine were pretty brittle and stubborn.

Finally got the transfer case fully in. Finishing the button up and have a question:
Does it matter which bolt attaches the ground strap?
Mine was really badly torn before removal and I don’t remember where it was originally connected.

Nope, just needs to connect the driveline to the body (or frame depending which one) with a bit of slack.

Guys- today is the freaking best. January will be two years since I killed my transfer case. After many days of procrastination, anxiety, anger, hopefulness, frustration, and thoughts of giving up, I was able to drive my cruiser!
@GLTHFJ60 helped so much along the way. Even letting my crap sit in his garage for so long without progress. Thanks to @NC LX for hooking me up with a used case that I used for clean gears. I’ve enjoyed laughing with so many when they saw how I ground those gears.
And just in time for celebration arrived two bottles of whiskey from High West for attending a web conf with DellEMC!

How did you manage that??

Believe it or not, the transfer case needs oil to keep running effectively. /s
I hadn’t been keeping up with it as well for the previous year. We sold our house and lived in an apartment while house hunting; then it got cold and didn’t want to deal with stuff outside.
Turns out that even a tiny leak will take a toll if left alone.

Always was annoyed with the 40's feeble interior light - even with an LED bulb. Basically required a headlamp to actually find anything in the truck after dark. Stuck some cheapo 12v LED strip lights around the interior, wired to the factory interior door switch, and "let there be light". Huge difference. The strip length was nearly perfect - from driver windshield corner, around the side, rear, other side, and to passenger windshield corner. Zero splicing. Also can undo it all to factory in about 10 min. Highly recommend.
