So to summarize - we're looking at doing this the next weekend? Sounds like everyone is down for a day run. I second a post run 🍺 venue. It seems like the three options for doing a run as of now are:

-Ballota ranch/ castle rock run
-Chiva Falls
-Patagonia Ghost Town Loop

I'm game for a day run too, but am a little hesitant about Chiva. I haven't fabbed up a gas tank skid plate yet

I know that there was a wild fire yesterday near Redington (chiva falls, chimney rock [ I inadvertently called it castle rock])but the report said that it was contained. chimney rock took me and a co worker about 3 hours for the two of us. I have never done Chiva or Patagonia. My vote is chimney rock.

Chiva has potential for damage to a stocker or mild rig.

The Ghost Town Loop is mainly dirt roads(from what I hear).

Chimney rock is always a fun run, right in the middle of the other two on challenge. We did it last year and it took 5 hours with lunch and leisure.

Well, it has been longer that I'd like to omit, the last (and only) time I did Chiva. Back in the day, there were ways to skirt around the nasty stuff if one wanted. Searching this brought back memories and friends I still have today...
Page 3 if you want to skip the pre-event banter.

My kid's soccer game should be over by 11 on the 9th. I could lead south from Sahuarita then. More of an afternoon trip to Duquesne with a late start?

I do not know the area well enough to lead somthing. But anyone who wants to go give me a time and drop a pin ill be there this weekend.

When i learn some trails ill be all about leading a run.

I second that

Ghost town trail loop is about 45 miles and takes about 3 hours the basketball game is at 2. So a good start time would ideally be between 9-10 in the morning, if people wanted to go/ see the game. If I don't do this then I am relegated to doing honey do's around the house. I say lets plan on starting by 10 to get some people from Phoenix down but i have no idea on where to meet up to get this started.

Hey some time are out now.. haha. Want to set up a meeting location in tucson to drive to the trail head?

I think the road from Amado to Patagonia is better than I-19! The screenshot is walking time so it should be considerably faster than posted.

How many people are thinking about being back by game time?
