custom socket for removing the back up light sensor
rear output shaft is excellent shape, on the H55F this is one area to check for wear since the mountains, over time, wear from flat top wide ridge to pointed, narrow ridges which allows excessive shock when shifting and going from forward to reverse.
input shaft is snug and clean.

test fitting the turbo
the manifold is now off to the PC to be coated with a high heat silver coating. it sucks how fast cast rusts.

the old BEB from this engine ...
not bad shape, normal wear, no delaminating but for the cost new just made sense.

deep in thought

looking better, most of the engine just needed a good cleaning, the basic block got a shot of high heat paint applied.

checking the turbo kit for accuracy.
packaging was second to none, very well packaged.
so far seems everything is there
but
doing a quick read of the instructions show they are less than what i was hoping for. if possible when i install this it will help fill the missing information.

If you search turbo installs, I did a install and write up on the denco twice.....

Looking good

Cheers.
Rob

never did a search as i wanted to go at this install as a newbie would.
purchase
open
go "AAHHHH, purdy"
read instructions
install
bitch about something

installing a turbo is pretty straight forward and easy.

thanks for the compliments guys.

for now, Mud will not let me post up pics so here is what happened today, i will post pics when i can...
mounted the troopy tires on the PZJ70 ragtop and went for a drive.
very quiet for a lug tire
handled with one finger on the wheel
through very few stones on gravel roads.
has some sidewall flex but i am only running 40 psi
looks stock on a 2.5" lift.
will rub while turning on a bank but moving the axle ahead 1" will cure this concern.

all in all, i think i am in love.
but
note
they ballance with a LOT of weights.

Wayne, hope you didn't get in trouble posting too many T n A shots, lol.

lovin the build thread! just trying to find time and excuse to shoot up there, see the beast in person, and say hello! hope your summer's goin well!

cheers.

summer is busy and by the end of next week we hope to have the running gear installed
then some more customs work with the York compressor, drier, fuel tanks...
you know you are welcome anytime.
cheers

Thanks for the updates on the tires Wayne. I bought the tubeless version and I wonder if Dyna beads would work better to balance them? I used this product in some Michelin XLs and it worked great.

And I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but the "battleship" gray powder coating looks great with the white body. I'm not sure it is a color I would have picked initially, but seeing it I can say I like the color.

slide hammer to remove the old pilot bearing

testing the spacers ...
an idea of the height of the truck with these tires, Mitch is 6'4" so they do raise the truck significantly.
but
the truck itself still rings of the stock look, most people would never know it isn't stock.

the tires fit inside the fenders of a stock 70 perfectly legal. in Canada the law is no tires may stick outside the sheet metal. the law isn't enforced much unless you get pulled over by a cop that is having a bad day or is a power tripper.

the more i look at these tires on my 70 the more i am thinking i need to get a set.
