ForealBoreal,
Dream Troopy? I'm tickled; it's exactly the same for me. Regarding tires, that's IF i can find XZL's; so far, my looking around (in the early stages yet) only tells me they are as rare as can be in Canada.
Cheers, n

sweet! Yeah if you don't know me too well I love 70s...
Everywhere I look for them its a tough find.
I talked to a fellow with a DAF that could get them in the states.
This was back in June when I was up close to Hyder.

255/100s. Man those would look hot on that troopy. Just like the one here:)
They were worth big bugs from what I have been told.

that thread has been inspirational for another build i have sitting in the wings.

aux fuel tank

3 fuel tanks. Is that not just a tiddle OTT?

I usually only ever read of 2 large capacity fuel tanks.

I too have a spare tank...old fashioned 20litre type:p

think of it this way, if you are in Alaska during a cold snap you can run the wabasto for 180 hours :hhmm:
or
as long as the batteries hold up:confused:

or

you can idle the truck for 90 hours with no fill

or

you can sell diesel to some unlucky individual in the middle of nowhere :o

and

think of the traction you will have :steer:

i will let the owner comment on where he will be traveling. the original priorities were to be able to drive back roads from Ontario to Alaska, remote roads down the west coast to the tip or Argentina and back up the east coast. this was the basis i designed the Cruiser to accomodate, where he actually goes ...

thanks for the compliments guys, a build like this is a huge undertaking, the thought process needs to try and take into account most possibilities.

Do you have a link to 'that' thread?

As in a build thread for that truck, or is it the more general Travelling Cruiser thread posted above?

Thanks.
