Tranny to Transfer case bypass hose

Can anyone confirm the same overflow problem exists on earlier (1971) 3 speed trans/transfer case?

One way to tell if you have the problem is take the fill plug out of the transmission. If oil runs out you have the same problem for sure, if not the seal may be good and fail in the future.

I am amazed how many have sold over the holidays. This reminds me of the first group buy. Should be able to give the vender a final count monday morning before he starts making them hope he got enough fittings in from England to handle this big order. As soon as i hear from the vender i will post a status.

The vender contacted me this afternoon. Monday they will make up 5 hoses as thats all the fittings they have in stock for right now. Next week he has enough fittings to do another five. It will be a couple weeks before he gets his latest order of fittings in and I asked him to order enough fittings to do another ten. When the last batch come in I will have a couple left over that I will be able to sell on a first pay first out. The last order I still expect will be mid January before we get all the hoses we currently have on order. As soon as the first 5 come in I will email the next 5 who have paid and send you the USPS priority tracking number. When you get your hose send me a pm letting me know you received yours.

My anti virus software blocked mud saying it was unsafe today. What is up.

8 hoses came in Friday and 8 hoses went out today via usps priority mail.
The following initials with zip code got hoses shipped today. I expect another batch in a couple weeks thanks for the patience.

The eight that were sent out went out Saturday I took them to the USPS drop off center in Cape Girardeau. The others that were ordered the parts to make up the balance of the order will be at the vender from England in 10 days. So hopefully by February 3 I will be able to send the last batch of the 5th group buy. I appologize for the vender delay but its beyond my control. Thank you for your patience in waiting.

What would be the advantages of this hose? I have a oem PTO in my split tcase is it ok to put one of this? Pictures will be appreciated tks

To make sure you get the right length you need to
Measure from the fill plug of the transmission yo the fill plug of the transfer case. The standard length is 12.75 for an H42 4 speed transmission to a one piece transfer case. Thats all I own so I
dont have any way of knowing what exactly you have. The way to test if you need it is to remove the fill plug on the transmission. If oil comes out of it its because it sucked oil out of the transfer case. The hose would prevent the over flow condition. The oil is sucked out of the transfer case because the seal between the transfer case and transmission failed. Some guys are still installing the hose as insurance for when the seal does fail. For what the hose would look like after installed there are several pictures on this thread.

@shipmag tks for the info. Could not look for a picture in this thread that has thus hose with a Toyota oem PTO attached to the tcase. It would be nice yo see one and how it was attached from tranny to tcase

I thought the PTO was on the passenger side and the fill plugs are on the drivers side i would think there wouldnt be a problem. Let me know what you find out.

Take a rubber hose and measure how long of a hose you need without putting any kinks in the hose. The longest one I have had made was like 27 inches to snake around all the obstacles the hose works better than a tape measure. Your the first one I have had asking about the pto. Just be sure to try and keep the hose from
Coming in contact with your exhaust. These hoses have a teflon sleeve to protect from heat but if it lays on the exhaust pipe all the time eventually i think the hose would fail from the heat. Good luck.

my 74 and 76 have pto on the passenger size and fill plugs are both on the drivers side on a one piece transfer case.

My bad Pablo your right saw the pic on Vaes thread. In looking at that pic, it will take a longer hose to go above the PTO. I am not sure but it might be too high then to work properly as the oil would have to get to that level where it comes over the PTO. Not sure but that may end up keeping too much oil in the transmission allowing it to flow out the front seal of the transmission when it goes putting oil all over the clutch and possibly ruining the clutch plate.

Why couldn't you just use a long hose and run under the PTO box? The gear oil would still return to the transmission fill hole the same way, just a bit long route. John
