Tranny to Transfer case bypass hose

Installed! When I pulled my tranny plug, it poured out pretty good. Pulled the TC plug and got nothing. New hose must be needed for mine! Should I pull the TC end and add more fluid or just let the tranny fluid drain through the hose?

I had that same issue when I installed mine that I made a few days ago.

Fill the tranny you already let the oil out dont run with it that low or you could damage the bearings in the tranny.

It poured the whole time from pulling the plug to fitting the new plug. Obviously not that much came out, but if I pull the plug again, more will come out. How do I refill it if it's already pouring out as soon as I loosen the plug? Can I fill through the TC plug?

Before you install the hose let the overflow drain from the transmission until
Its even with the fill plug hole on the transmission. Then fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole on the transfer case. Now both are full like they are suppose to be. Now install the hose.

Thanks Lou...installed mine yesterday. I am a little concerned about the amount of gear oil it took to fill though. I drained the tranny and transfer case and let empty for about 45 minutes. I am concerned because it only took 2 quarts to fill the tranny and just over 1 quart to fill the transfer case. I am going to take off bypass hose to check the refill holes tomorrow and see if I can get more gear oil in. Tranny should take ~3.6 quarts and transfer case should take ~2.5 quarts, correct? Has anyone had a similar issue changing gear oil?

I looked up the capacities of both in the Factory Manual. Both the transfer case and transmission take SAE 90 gear oil .
Transmission Takes 3.1 liters or 3.3 US quarts or 2.7 Imp qts
Transfer Case Takes 1.7 liters or 1.8 US quarts or 1.5 Imp qts

Your transmission is correct on fill level but your to high on the transfer case.

It probably will take less because you cant get all the oil out of it but it should be close to the above.

Pulled the hose back off today. Nothing came out of the TC. I let the tranny get down to a slight drizzle of fluid and buttoned it up (still a bit coming out, but didn't want to let to much out). I added oil to the TC, and it took maybe 1/4 of a bottle before it starting draining out of the fill hole. Made me feel better that I wasn't driving around with no fluid! Hose reinstalled. Feel better about having the hose on there, just in case. Quick question- you don't put any sealant or gasket on the ends of each hose plug right? I did not, but haven't seen any leakage.

It should have a copper crush washer on it.

The group 5 buy is closed. I went ahead and ordered a couple extra in case some one wants to give them self a late christmas present. I also am trying to sell the one I have for myself on ebay. I am amazed how many people are interested in this hose. Not sure when or if I will order another group buy. Depends on the interst.

Half way through the Holiday Shut down. Haven't heard any thing new but with them being closed until January 6 I didnt expect to hear any thing. They are suppose to contact me before they start manufacturing the rest for a final count. So if someone still wanted in on this group buy I guess we can keep taking orders. PM me for payment instructions.
