Installed a set of budbilt steel powdered skids on @nor_cal_cyclist rig this morning. Other than a plethora of different bolts and nut combination; JIS, metric, torx, allen and SAE bolts install was what I expected.

Had to remove the ARB front plate, remove the spacers and take the ARB plate to the press brake for a proper fit. Tried this loose and tightened up and still had a large gap 1/2"+ that looked like ass. So we made it right.

Personally prefer the @sleeoffroad plates if I had to install another set, just me.

Will be installing our Trail Tailor shock guards in the morning and getting to the custom bumper install as well.

Unfortunately this 2019 with 3400 miles is already leaking rear diff fluid. Tons of silicone used on the rear diff install, diff is completely covered with a misted layer of gear oil. We added 1/2 a quart to top it off. The batteries are dead almost every morning. I don't mess with pre - electrical installs, I refuse to. We've had to jump start this rig several mornings to move it; just a pain in the ass. Sorry B, had to bitch, I know you are more politically correct than I am... BUT DAMN!

Yikes that's bad! Was the work done at a national Jeep 4x4 chain shop or something? It definitely highlights why it pays to go to a legit Toyota shop (and specifically one that's familiar with 200s).

That truck is mine. I was originally led to believe when I bought the truck a Toyota Shop was doing the work, thus justifying the high install costs. However, in the end, DSI (ie the wholesale side of 4Wheelparts) did the majority of the work on it. Makes sense looking back in hindsight - wrong snorkel installed, battery dead upon delivery (but told it was because I checked the location with the alarm/GPS tracker), incorrect sliders installed, and several other "headaches" - all occurring under the thourough oversight and watchful eye of a "200 specialist." Should have walked away - even if it cost me the deposit. Honestly wish I'd never purchased the truck some days...at least not from a MUD sponsor that comes off as "doing it in the best interest of MUD members" - telling you whatever it takes to make a sale and continue lining his pockets, regardless of the quality & final outcome. Responsibility, accountability and honesty are rare things these days - especially from a Car Salesman.

Hoping the warranty will back the repair, but wondering if Toyota will work on it with the locker/gears installed. If not, another check to Trail Tailor to fix it and the electrical gremlin/power drain.

Wow I am sorry to hear that! Sounds like a tough situation, and I hope it gets resolved. There's nothing worse than paying a premium for something to be done right and get a product that doesn't perform. Hopefully you can share more about your experience to help others once you're not bound by any legal or confidentiality constraints.

Just off the phone with Toyota - they will look at the truck and make the call to the aftermarket warranty company, but will not cover repairing the leak. Proverbial "gloves" might be coming off....

Sorry to hear and it's no excuses to the builder. Sometimes its the nature of the aftermarket. Glad you're in good hands now.

At least both issues could be relatively minor? Pulling the diff to reseal is a reasonably straight forward affair. I happen to be doing a re-gear now and was curious what people thought on FIPG vs gasket. I've heard FIPG can be great for a reliable seal. Still comes down to individual execution.

Battery issue could be just a new battery away. Once they die once from perhaps a long sit, they're never the same and its downhill from there.

Got started on @i4c4lo LX570 rear this morning. Had to get the sonar cutouts designed, but all good to go. They are different than the 200s.

That bar seems like a nice balance between a full width bar, and center bars. Sort of a happy medium that focuses protection around the radiator.
