Maybe me, what is it and how do I use it.
It's a small software app for your winfows computer which streemlines programing ham radios.
You can keep all the channels and settings you like in a file and upload to any modern radio.
Useful to hams who talk to repeaters with offsets and whatnot.
But you know all this, cuz you're a ham!

Passed the tech exam last Saturday! Took it in Erie of all places since I that’s where I was. Overall the process was easier than I had expected it would be - I pretty much just used an app on my phone to study for several hours over the week preceding the test. The test was on paper, so I might have to wait longer to make it into the database apparently. I ordered one of the Baofeng radios today to start playing around with; hopefully it’ll be here this week.

Congrats on passing. I haven't played with it at all yet. I will bring it to cmcc and see if I can figure it out. I plan to have a look at it before then though.
This varies from region to region. Out west the defacto LC chat frequency is 146.460, but on the east coast this interferes with local repeaters. That's why we shifted the GCLC chat frequency up to 147.460.
The CMCC band plan table that I posted somewhere on this thread has been cross checked as of 3 years ago for local repeaters and should be free to use as simplex channels.
Ah, thanks for that info! Once the radio I ordered arrives, I will figure out how to program the those frequencies in as well as the CMCC band plan. With those at least I will hopefully have some common channels with other people around here.
My understanding is 146.460 is the Rising Sun Chapter but, I like that it was being adopted as western cruiser coms.
I would be quite happy using 147.460 as our club's channel too, but doubt that will jive with Crusha's new radios....

Ya that freq is not part of Crusha's channels. But for trail comms Crusha's radios will be nice. But The official Keystone Cruiser old Fart @shmukster does need no stinking radios.
Aw Chris...………..thanks for the kind words! How's this for a selfish approach- I plan to use one of Crusha's radios when I wheel with him and to use one of the CCLC radios when I wheel with you guys. I ain't taking no stinkin' test! Not that I need a radio...………..
Just keep in mind that during CMCC, we use 147.460 as our event management channel, so they'll be a lot of chatter in the mornings as people are yelling at me to do stuff.
