Trading my 2011 for 2014 ???

When I was driving more and didnt want to drive my built cruiser into the ground, I bought a used BMW. Big discount for just a couple of years old and some with a CPO. Had a Z4 and when the weather was bad, drove the cruiser.

Now I am not driving as much so sold the BMW and built a a 1977 Land Cruiser FJ40 (Fuel Injected V8). I put about 5K on that and keep the bigger cruiser to around 10K a year. For convertibles in the summer, the Z4 was fun, but no where near as good as the Fj40.

If I drove a lot, it would be with a reliable and in-expensive commuter car. One that I wouldnt care about wearing out. I almost had to go work in Colorado Springs, would have been a 50 mile one way commute every day. That would have required a commuter vehicle. Except of course during bad weather

When my fully built 100 was getting old, I bought a little Subaru WRX that was an absolute BLAST so zip around in as a second car (got it up to 154MPH late one night on a closed road...!!). But then my 100 started to die, and in order to afford the 200, I sold my WRX. I would love to have another little zippy car again--especially when my 200 is fully built, like you say.

If you are good for money get the newer one. But if not I would keep your current Cruiser. That's my vote.
Now I don't own a 200 series right now but I definitely will some day, that's for sure.

Wow. If I drove 50k a year, I'd probably consider a vehicle that gets better fuel economy!
On the other hand...there's nothing quite like a LC, even on-road.

If it's in excellent shape, garage kept and in a popular color(gray or silver) with 60k miles, I would say 40-45k. I sold my silver 2008 with 110k mi. last year for $32,500 in a day with several offers. I was nice enough to accept the first one...even though others were willing to outbid him by 3k. Next time I will not be so generous. In Colorado, its harder to find a low mileage used gray with black leather such as my current but no plans on selling anytime soon.

No way. You have the last year of the Super White Land Cruiser. The only thing you should trade yours for is another lower mileage, rust-free, Super White 2011. 08-11s look the best anyway, in my opinion.

Difference in mileage means nothing for a 200 Series.

Do whatever the hell you want to with the saved $25k

No entirely off topic, this conversation may help the OP. Can someone who has had both a 08-12 and a 13-15 compare the radio/nav/infotainment (hate that word) systems? One of the factors driving me to get a 13-15 is the radio/nav system. I installed a new 2014 Tacoma head-unit in my 2012 Tacoma and I really like it, way more than the DVD nav that was in my 2007 Tundra. I don't use Entune that often, but it just seems to work better with my phone than the radio/nav unit in my 2007 Tundra did. The maps seem to work better, and generally it is more pleasant to use than the older system. During the last 10 years that technology has been changing a lot. I drove an 04 100 series and the nav unit seemed ancient. I'd rather have an AM/FM radio and knobs for the heater than an ancient nav system that barely works.

It would be very interested to hear someone who has had both systems compare them. Typically when the toyota nav frustrates me i just use google. maps.

I have a 2010 (66k) and a 2013 (36k) now. They drive exactly the same. The differences with the 13 are the HID headlights, the improved IP and audio interface, turn signals on the side mirrors, and the guidelines on the backup camera. I haven't detected any differences in the Nav systems. Not saying they're not but they can't be major. The IP is nice in that you can select what you see in the middle of your dashboard. I go w/ a big digital speedometer. Audio is a big upgrade with Bluetooth audio, Pandora, satellite and FM stations saved to the same screen, and improved scrolling for I-pod songs by using a phone-like keypad so you can jump directly to i.e songs beginning with TUV. On the 2010 you literally can scroll for 5 minutes or more for a song that begins with a letter towards the end of the alphabet. Not the best for safe driving. I hope this helps.

I use my phone / maps, music. I leave my nav screen turned off.
I'd think the up side to the newer year truck would be the cooled seats, exterior cameras, the two more speeds on CRAWL control and turn assist. I have an 08.

Well the cooled seats are pretty nice, but I would hold off a while longer and get the new body style after its a few years old. The birds eye view system is really handy.

Of course, I caved. I traded and am enjoying the new to me 2014. I'm finding quite a few differences and will report back later.

Now I'm going to need to replace my tan Weathertech mats with black (front, rear seats and cargo area).

Not that this would be a deal breaker but drl are still halogen. The led are just night accent.

Also my humble opinion that price minus $1000 would seem good and i held off longer to get the refresh for the options.
