Hey folks, I found a OEM Toyota Gerry Can, looking for an OEM mount. Anyone have a picture of one, or know if they exist (either for inside the truck or spare tire type of mount)?

Attached is a picture of my 1976 FJ40, which is due to be delivered next week from the west coast.:bounce:

Thanks

talk to Marv Spector, most are for RHD rigs but he might have one for the LHD.

had my OEM can for a few years.....take it out of the box once a year and polish it ;)

wow thats a clean rig:eek::grinpimp:

some pics of oem mount bolted to side of a rig...DO NOT DO THIS...

two more of the can and carrier

Man, that's some sloppy ass welding! I can only assume that'd HAVE to bolt to the exterior of the vehicle, in which case, I'd pass. I wouldn't have it inside, so it's value to me wouldn't be much, other than as a collector's item.

OOOOOH! I want one of those spare tire covers!

that is that perticular can....as i remember now that isnt a oem can thats a 50's mil can?

oem cans are perfect :)

did you see the pics in the other link?

the correct carrier is in the other link also...did you see it?

Please note that that is what happens to your dog when it drinks the original OEM water that came in the can.

pic #1 cruiser ken's correct carrier

pic#2 Idave's jerry can

MUCH better, but what is the factory location, if any? Do you relocate the spare inside, or was that just for convenience to mount to the tire carrier?

He would have known better if the can was red, but it only has a "G" (is that for "Gas" or for "Gerry"?) and he skipped that day in reading. :frown:

I would really like to get a hold of one of these mounts....

I am still confused about where it would go, I certainly don't want to mount it on the side of my rig, yuck...

I guess toyota didn't make some sort of mounting hardware for in the cab, or to attach to the spare tire carrier thru the wheel?

Thanks, I have enjoyed seeing all the posts!

i would use a mounting system like old con-fer jerry can mounts have for the rear spare tire....it comes out and then you mount the carrier to it....kinda simple

can be home made....and fit nicer to the pattern on the oem mount
