Yes from what I have heard. With that said, I haven't gotten one yet  but will when I order my lift from Slee.

It gives you the ability to lock your center diff in high. When you go down to 4 low it does this automatically.

After the install you can also do the 7-pin mod which allows you to go in 4 low and not have the center locked. with the switch you have more control over the center. Also if you have factory lockers, you can engage them in 4 high with by locking the CDL.

You probably won't find a used one for a 95-97 unless the wreck had the switch added. They are not stock.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Now that I think about it, I did get a switch from a 91.

Did mine today. Took <1 hour to install the switch, do the pin 7 mod, button it all back up and road test.

Got my switch out of a wrecked 92.

I would rate this as 1/2  .

It was one of my first mods. It also turns off ABS, which is really handy when you want to drive on gravel roads. ABS just makes braking a lot harder on dirt roads.

Just a FYI, IIRC, 93-94 can use the switch from a 91-92 (used/wrecking yard, etc.), the 95 and up have a diferent dash and different shaped switch.

You are correct suh.

I think this should be the first mod done!

An invaluable mod...I just did mine recently and its already come in very handy. Check the FEQ for details on install and recommendations. Great for moving around boats/trailers in 4 low, and not having to worry about scrubbing the wheels.

I used a hazard switch from a toyota car (It looks identical to the hazard switch in my 95) and will make a little label for it. Cost was $4

I can't justify spending even $30 on a switch at the moment. I've been putting this mod off for too long, but I'll be using a less expensive switch and mount it elsewhere... maybe under the dash.
