HISS (I knew someone would say it eventually, I'll start a thread)

I think there has been a few lemons thread as well ;)
But this is a kind of rant so carry on ma'am

Funny, how when you put the word that starts with an A and rhymes with banal in front of almost any Ford vehicle model name, it makes it even mo funnier.

this should all be in chat but, just sayin' .....
I had a 94 probe gt... was a decently good handling car for FWD.

I always thought we need a new thread, if we have "ONSC" Chat, there should be an "ONSC Shat"

Had surgery this morning. Doc said more surgeries are in my future, but for now I'm finally on the road to recovery.

Apparently my knee is no bueno.

Edit: for the rant portion, doc said no more sports, because there is no meniscus left. Yay.

**** that!

Docs always say that s***.
I destroyed my ankle in high school.
No more anything.
At 30 I was i so much pain the doc (different than the initial doc) said, “buy a cane”.
**** that.
I started running.
Moved on to trail running and Spartan races.
The pain in my ankle will never be gone, but it’s WAY better than when I was in the “no sports” mode.
My knees are better.
My back is better.
Don’t listen to that s***.

You won’t be playing in the NCAA tournament this year, but you weren’t anyway.

The Dr. advise seems to always assume your some half-assed s*** sack who won’t put in the work to improve. If you care, if you want to put in the work, you’ll be fine.

I guess maybe that was my own rant.

Johnny, I am with the evil ginger on that one, many docs will give you the worse, then easier to deliver the good news. Pain is a reminder that you are still in the game, not a timed buzzard that you need to take the bench. Make adjustments, and move forward. Oh, and eat bacon. While you are recovering get a copy of “Fitness Confidential” by Tortorich. Then a copy of “Can’t Hurt Me” by Goggins, will make sense, I promise.

Johnny, I have been dealing with back pain since 1992. Spinal stenosis in the lower 4, bone spurs, compressed disc and now arthritis. I take a daily anti-inflammatory and simply go about my business. I have a pain in the left side, belt high, that feels like an ice pick stuck there, both knees have lost feeling on the outside, I could be cut and only feel the pressure, (don't ask me how I know), I endure some of the most painful cramps in my inside upper thighs and I have lost the feeling in part of my feet. I live with this everyday and simply ignore it and go on. You are young and strong and you will find ways to endure and manage the old maid pain that is there. Find a good Dr and work with them. I am sure you will endure. BTW My left knee has been scoped twice and the right knee once. I don't have much material between the bones in the joints so I might be facing replacement surgery in the future.

Get on the exercise bike as soon as they say to. do the pts, but the hard part will be to NOT overdo it. Electrostim and bike will keep the scar tissue from fusing. at 18, I was on a path for knee replacements by 45. 8 had a great surgeon who scoped right knee and fixed me. he was able to slow me down on damage for later in life.

When you can, get on an elliptical machine. low impact, lots of benefit.

Weight loss is good too. 10 years ago, I was 230 and miserable. Ankles, knees and hips ached. Dropped down to 175, and I was a new person. I'm now back up to 190 and older...need to start dropping some myself

Dont lose heart my man push through.

I've been having knee issues off and on for a while super common according to my doc for those over 6'4. It was compounded from working at Gerrard, lifting 100+ lbs tires up 100 times a day will get you strong but also take a toll on your knee.... go figure. I should get surgery but cant afford and the doc says I'd need multiple anyway, it so I've learned to cope and push through it because bad knees suck at young age, which I'm sure you've figured out. Having flat feet doesnt help either.

Luckily mine isn't an always thing but always flares up at the worse times. 5 miles into a 10 mile hike etc.....

I've been losing weight but it was slow and I've hit a wall. Mostly because my knee will flare if doing lots of motion with my legs so I started lifting heavy again which helped but put on muscle mass. Now my shoulder is messed up, so that's out also temporarily. Getting old sucks. So I've pretty much cut out beer to try and cut out empty calories. Etc.

I'm back to slow hiking and just fighting through it.

Find what works for you.... lean on your friends, literally if you have to, and keep pushing.

What is it with banks and fax machines?!?!? You can't get any more ignorant about technology than banks. Well maybe some realtors. May years ago, when I was brought in to the biggest bank in the area, they thought fax machines took the paper and broke it down into very small pieces, then send it like a word over the telephone, then on the other side the paper arrived and got reconstructed by tiny hoompa loompas and will tape the paper back together. I did get rid of rooms after rooms of fax machines while I was there. Now the fookers are back. Ignorant backwards idiotic superstitious..... WE DO HAVE A PROBLEM IN THIS COUNTRY BY RIDICULING SCIENCE, WE ARE THE JOKE OF THE MODERN WORLD!!. I would like it blame it on the mind numbing Kardashians, but they are smart, they got a bunch of morons to watch them do nothing and get paid.

Okay, feel better now. And yes, bankerwanker, I will print the form you sent, the send it via fax, a fax is going to SCAN your document, convert it to a raster TIFF file, transmit it electronically, where another machine will reconvert the TIFF image, and print it. Then you can scan the printed copy from the fax into your computer to save it electronically. I will not simply email you the TIFF file so you can stop all the other steps. Wasteful cave dwelling underdeveloped monkey clowns...

Okay, rant over. For now.

Similar, I continue to deal with people that want to share .pdf documents for a number of subjects. Fine, they typically begin as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc., and a pdf keeps everything neat and consistent. But instead of exporting it to a pdf document and sending a clean file, they print it, then scan it, then email the scan. Between printer quality and crooked scans, everything looks like crap.

i get pictures of a cell phones screen, like from a disposable camera, from my mom.... there are very many levels here, one, takes a picture of her cell phone, 2 waits until the film on the camera is used, god forbid digital cameras are used, 3, sends it off to a shrinking number of places that develops said disposable camera film.... THEN SNAIL MAILS IT TO ME ASKING HER QUESTION....

Don't feel bad, my Mom has gone stone age. She decided a year or so back that she is not going to answer her phone if she does not feel like it. Which is most of the time. She then gives me crap for never calling her. So I write her letters, she says they look like computer generated for letters, so I hand write her letters. Don't you have any nice stationary? Oy!
