Making Progress

I installed most of my my full Ricochet skid plating system yesterday. I still need to do the rear bumper skid and front A-Arm protectors.

You can't deal with better folks. Each piece was poly wrapped with the hardware and directions zip tied to the part. Plenty of thick cardboard boxing and heavy wrapping paper. Shipping was way too cheap cross country from Salt Lake City. They can't all be Mormons out there as every part installation required that you drink a beer when done. Shipping was cheap and quick and they give forum members 10% off the top.

They add just over 100 pounds. The tallest plate pictured replaces the wimpy plastic fuel tank skid.

I'm wondering if the smoother bottom and better aerodynamics overcomes the weight for better highway fuel economy. I guess I will know soon enough.

Finished the front axle install tonight, I forgot how much of a pain it is to pack bearings, gotta measure for the driveshaft tomorrow, after dinner, OK Tom woods, lets see what you can do!!!

Looks good! Now you just have to put some real tires on that thing!

I installed the tires today, I'm going to have "tire hitting fender during articulation" syndrome

The tall & skinny KM2's go on when we get back from Moab, and the Southwest. No sense burning off 7K miles worth of rubber off the $1000 tires vs the $300 ones

I cranked the front lift up another inch today expecting it will settle some over the 6K+ mile trip

Did you flip the springs in front to increase wheel base??? If so why the front and not the rear?

Man that is really looking good! Gives me incentive to do similar to the Swiss Miss!
