To my Mud Mates-

I won't post about this again...but...

One year ago--TODAY--after literally destroying myself in a high speed fall from my own Cruiser two days after returning from the 200 Ouray gathering (shattered tibia, concussion, three other broken bones, and extensive nerve damage to my leg and hand that still persist)--

--I never thought in a million years I'd be able to do a simple thing like THIS, almost exactly one year later...

Walking at all at this point was uncertain at best--so being able to clown around on Top-of-the-World ledges in Moab while @TonyP flew his drone...or shuffle out onto this tree trunk as Julie and I drove home from Breckenridge through Utah was icing on a pretty amazing recovery cake--even if just half of my quads are working so far.

Thanks, guys, for all the kindness and encouragement over the last **YEAR** and for making the build-up to the Breck trip something that LITERALLY kept me scheming, planning and building through some very long, difficult times--especially the first 7 months. Man, I can't even tell you what a difference it made.

Even if not heard from privately or overtly...this forum was a HUGE factor in keeping me sane in the room I was stuck in for so long.

Thank you, guys. THANK YOU.

-Mark(uson) & Julie too.

Great to hear about your recovery.

Mark, I was glad to finally meet you and your bride

Glad things are on the upward trend for you

Mark, glad you have recovered well, and hope that you have continued progress> Keep kicking "arse" and being an inspiration to us all.

Mark, so glad the recovery has gone so well for you. Puts everything in life into the right perspective when something health related stands in the way of "normal" life!

Sorry we didn't get to see you guys this year, but next year is a definite for us.

Mark, awesome job on the recovery! Glad I got a chance to sit down and catch up with you in Breck! Cheers buddy, see ya next year!

You're doing as good a job with yourself as you are with your Land Cruiser. Probably a direct connection there somewhere!

So good to know that you have recovered (mostly). But also know that it was your willingness to share what you were going through that helps make this forum more than just a bunch of gear heads. From Ken and Emily (and Zoey) to the families and kids that were in Breck it is pretty awesome when we can encourage along on the trail of life. And, BTW, I wouldn't be standing on that log and I'm healthy (albeit old). ;)

That's great to hear Mark, I'm glad your recovery is going well! It was also great meeting you and Julie this year at Breck and look forward to hanging with you guys again!

Looking good, glad to see you doing better. Please be careful that looks dangerous!

Hoping that you make a full recovery!

The notes here just underscore what I was trying to say. :)

Truly thankful for y'all.

And thanks for that photo, Cole! -Bent thumb and all! ;)

MAN, I get nervous just looking at the pictures. Kamal and I both had a hard time watching you out there. Not a fan of heights......

Really glad we got to see you out on the trails this year. Enjoyed meeting Julie as well. Aubrey really enjoyed talking with her in Breck.

Can't wait for next year. Hope the time in between is kinder to you.
