The Permatex is very easy. Like toothpaste really. IMHO no need to apply outside, the snorkel has an integrated molded system to "seal" as is. The Permatex (thanks for making me aware of it btw) fills in any possible space.
Be adviced that you may need two people to do this bc -in my case ymmv- it was hard to get the fender aligned bc the mid tube pushes out a bit. Easy fix if someone pushes on the fender inwards as the other person screws "in" the bolt just above the door hinge.
As for the antenna, ditto. I'm old school AND paranoid and won't depend on sat radio or internet music jic there is some sort of PSA announcement
So the antenna is gone, I ordered from Gamiviti Dot Com a mount that bolts just aft the snorkel (no drilling). It bolts using one of the bolts that holds the fender. Then I ordered from Amazon the Dual MAR16B Marine Flexible antenna. This antenna gets goods reviews, it's a short mast, flexible, pivots and it's marine grade. I'll post once installed. I get it Wednesday and I'll instal Thursday. The look won't be for everyone, it reminds me of the presidential limo of the 80s with the tiny masts up front with tiny colors.
Maybe I should get two lol!
Heres a pic of it:
I just looked at me rear rt (passenger side) window and my LC came with the integrated glass antenna. I may give that a shot first. I if it works Ill post and let you know tht way you dont spend $50 or so on the bracket and mast. Check yours to see if yours hace it, its a thin wire and its a amplified antenna. My understanding is that it is prewired and you just need to unplug the powered unit and plug the amplified one.
