ARCHIVE Tired of all the "same", big honking RTT's. So I made a new one. - Terrapod!

As you may know, I am one of the guys who put down money for one of the first edition units for my HZJ77.

If I understand this correctly, it seems the tent will only be accessible from the side and not the back due to most applications being vehicles with a rear hatch door that goes up.

My question is that can the tent be modified to be accessible from the back for those of us who have barn doors?

So sorry...no that is incorrect. All 3 sides can be used as entry and exit, if desired. The ladders connect to the tracks on all sides and each door/window can be used as an entry with zippers on the mesh and storm flaps.

Thank you. That clears it up for me.

Quick note - Terrapod is an official Rhino-Rack USA Dealer. We will be offering discount on tents and Rhino-Rack hardware / gear. Be sure to mention this and we can hook you up with a bolt-on setup.

Thanks!

Attention Prinsu and Victory Rack owners - (3/4 & Full length). Mounting kit is now available.

So that's the only mounting method if you have a prinsu rack? Which i do...

That's a bit vague. But yes...the angle brackets will tie directly to our crossbars. The biggest issue with Prinsu and Victory 4x4 style racks - they are narrow. The tent requires the crossbars for support and mounting. There will be a total set of 6-8 steel brackets and SS hardware.

1. Mount the brackets onto the Prinsu rails.
2. Mount the RTTx crossbars
3. Place RTTx onto crossbars
4. Bolt on RTTx mounting brackets.

Hope that helps.

No that sounds great. Need to add to my order.

Hey folks...please consider one of our other merch items. Every little bit will help us get up to speed that much faster. (BTW - the Mag-Coozie is freakin awesome. Easily my favorite thing.)

And please - help spread the word! We are truly wanting to bring high-quality USA made gear to the industry. We deserve quality gear!!

Nice. From the video it looks like the rear had some sort of triangular ventilation so I'm guessing the final version will have a large opening to enter/exit from the rear?

Correct. See the Kickstarter page. The proto shown with the blue rainfly - the rear on that one is correct.
The window orientation & shape is correct and it will go all the way down to the bottom to allow it to be an entry / exit. (We also made it a little larger).

How hard would it be to mount a river Smith/rod vault to the top of one of these?

We are testing a lid mounted rack accessory (will work on all tents). Certain that will do the job nicely.

Trying to decide how I'm going to mount the tent to my Eezi-Awn K9. Not familiar with Prinsu crossbars. Is the top or bottom extrusion the RTTx crossbars?

Bottom bar = Prinsu / Victory, etc...
Top bar = RTTx

Kickstarter Update: Don't Wait! The Introductory price is only for the First Edition Tents.

Only 12 units remain!

A reminder - we are using Kickstarter to jumpstart marketing to build awareness for Terrapod. That's pretty much it. All parts and materials are in within the next week and we will be starting production. So...the sooner we hit our goal, the sooner we ship tents.

Side note - a reminder, we can only ship to continental US and Canada at this time only. Thank you to all from overseas who have expressed interest. Once we get up to speed, we can determine the best international shipping. TY
