@gaijin

Recommendation for BFGoodrich K03 LT285/70R17 Load range C 116/113S?

Not sure if I just use the K02 guidance, but haven't seen anyything for K03. Thanks in advance!
Make and model tire makes no difference to the responses here. Every LT285/70R17 tire in any load is the same for the 200.

edit, going to add this to the post to add some more data so people don’t think I’m saying every tire with 285/70r17 has the same RCTIP.

the details do matter on whether it is a P Metric, LT Metric, or ISO Metric (Load index rather than size is what matters) tire. There is a table starting at that post with most every size tire for LC and LX.

Pretty sure it's been answered but couldn't find it what is the recommended pressure for the 285/70R17 on a LX570 ?

@gaijin
What's the recommended pressure for 2016 LX570 running Kenda Klever R/T KR601 LT285/70R17?
Thank you!

@gaijin I’ve run my tires per this table for a couple years now, just switched to 295/70R18s that will run at 35PSI. However, do you (or anyone really) have a general rule of thumb for airing down? IE what percentage of normal operating pressure, or a certain number of PSI to start with? Somewhat new to trails requiring airing down, and have just dropped pressure by 10PSI with ok results, not sure if there’s better wisdom here.

Edit: I’m probably overthinking it.

One good rule of thumb is to air down to 1/2 the RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure) and then fine tune from there based on terrain, speed, etc.

@gaijin Would the RCTIP for Michelin Defender LTX M/S 285/60R18 Extra Load 120/H speed rating be 33 psi for a 2021 LE with OEM wheels? Thanks for verification!
If pulling a weight-distributed 5,000 lb trailer, would you recommend upping the PSI a bit?

My LX manual recommends adding 2-6 PSI (depending on which OE tires it came with) to the rear when towing. I don’t have an LC Manila to compare but you might look in yours. It won’t hurt you at all to add a few pounds.

Been trying to find my specific tire specs to find the RCTIP but no luck. Just saw a lot of people getting great advice from @gaijin (hope I’m not late to the party).
I want to know the RCTIP for the LT275/65R17 that I use. Thanks in advance!

LC200 or LX570? What model year? Petrol or diesel?

Oh I didn’t know all that was needed. It’s a Gx460, Gasoline
2013 year

Sorry, I can only help with LC200/LX570 models.

You can always find the RCTIP yourself by using the calculator link posted above by @brian az :

Or you can learn all about it by reading an excellent monograph published by Toyo Tires found here:

Guidelines for the Application of Load and Inflation Tables
