The front Timbrens compared to OE. They should be a nice improvement.

We've decided to keep building the Tiny House Tundra!! It has been a really fun build and I'm super stoked to keep it going.

I had been concerned that the truck is a bit over GVWR when fully loaded, however it handles everything we throw at it with aplomb. Perhaps if we were building rigs at a production level we would want to recertify them. On that note we were able to increase the GVWR to 10000 as this one is commercially registered.

We took the truck up to OEX west and it was really great on the highway, I rarely dropped below 80 mph from Tucson to Flagstaff and still got around 10.5 mpg. The Alcan rear springs keep it really flat in the corners and minimize any body roll. The nights at OEX were freezing but the heater in the 4WC Hawk kept us warm and provided an "employee lounge" for daily after action reports.

Since our last report we've changed to Evo Corse 17" wheels imported by Mainline Overland, really beautifully made wheels.

More soon :)
I really like the build. Well thought out and cleanly executed. All most all trucks you will see with a camper in or on the bed are over the GVWR and or RAWR fully loaded wet, there just plane heavy. I am very interested in how you able to get the GVWR changed/ modified, I was under the impression that only the original manufacturer could do that, plus a 10000 pound GVWR for half ton Reg seems very high. I know my old 2015 super duty Diesel F250 had a GVWR rating of 9600 pounds and it had a full float rear axle and massive brakes and was not up to the task of carrying the camper I wanted.
I ended up getting a 2017 F350 dually with a camper package with a GVWR of 14000 as I wanted to carry my camper and tow my reg and be within the rated/legal weight rating.
I sure there a lot of other readers with over weight campers that would like to get there Regs legal as it's easy to beef them up but the law go's by what the sticker in the door show.

All legal, gross vehicle weight rating, Rear axle weight rating & combined vehicle weight ratting. Cheers ;)

I was hoping you were going to tell us how you accomplished this.

The state of Arizona allows businesses to set the GVWR (within limits) of a commercially registered vehicle.
We were hoping to be able to change the GVWR on the data plate, like an ambulance upfitter, but for our purposes the ADOT upgrade works for now. Obviously this doesn't help us on customer builds but we'll continue exploring avenues to increase GVWR with the requisite suspension, and perhaps braking and/or chassis, upgrades.

These are the plastic inserts supplied for the A-pillar. Hmmm....square peg round hole.

Seemingly identical to the plastic inserts that hold the ARB turn signals in place...coincidence? Not!

Way better with the nutserts :)

Great read on your build!!

We decided to remove the rear seat to enhance the cruising experience for the dogs.
K9 Tess is almost 15 and was having a hard time staying on the bench seat, plus Tobi likes the added room as Tess used to hog the whole seat.
A low height platform, with some storage underneath it, and a custom fit dog bed might be a cool next step...hmmm

Deleting the rear seat increased the noise in the back quite a bit, nothing a little sound deadener won't fix. We may build a cool panel to cover the back wall at some point but this will work for now.

The fridge in the camper is great but we thought the addition of a dedicated freezer would be super cool...

The new Dometic CFX 25 looks like it will fit the bill perfectly.

After modifying the 4WC banquette to improve airflow and running some new wiring we're good to go.

Not having to buy meat on an extended trip will be awesome, especially since we have way better local beef and pork than we're likley to come across on a trip. :)
